No argument from me, just to add to the discussion. Per NOCO
”BOOST jump starters have built-in overcharge protection and can be left on a charger at all times.”

Assuming these are the size numbers you are talking about:
My NOCO = 2000A
AAA guy pack = 1700A
I would think if my size is higher by these numbers, it should have worked.
Attached is a picture of AAA guy's pack he used. Also attached, my NOCO currently charging.

Those numbers are size - NOT capacity. The bigger AAA batterypack (it is a battery rather than a capacitive discharge) has that amperage sustainable for minutes rather than for a second or so.

Had this same issue almost exactly in my Harley with a NOCO. Come to find out that if the NOCO ever fully discharges (for whatever reason), the control board unit will go to “sleep”. It takes the right jolt from the right battery pack to basically reboot the damn thing, and all is good after that. Has happened to my Harley NOCO twice in 2 years. I have another lithium battery jump pack that I use and it kicks it in the ass in about 3 seconds, then it will come alive and recharge. Almost like the NOCO jump pack circuitry just won’t do the kick in the ass it needs.

Unit about a year old. When I would bring inside to charge, unit was still more than half charged up.
I've been connecting mine to the USB in the console. I've assumed that it only charges when the ignition is on. Does anyone know if that's correct?

In the interest of science, I just went out to the garage and checked. The console USB in my '21 JLU is energized with the ignition off and with the fob in the house some distance away.

I can't comment on how long the console USB will remain energized, if in fact there is a hard time limit (as there is with the radio when the ignition is in the ACC position.)

Hope that helps.

Maybe that's why my batteries went in 19 months.

With the aux bypass, the best way to use the noco is just positive and negative terminals on the main battery, or should one of the high capacity fuses be used like N1?

I have the Noco GBX155 with 4250 amps. It will start a commercial box truck no problem with a dead battery that will not take a charge. It is a beast. I spent the money to not worry about jumping a passenger vehicle.

Project Farm started a RV without a battery. He drilled two holes in a wooden block, put the terminals in it, then put it in the RV and this Noco started it.
