The start button. The very act of looking for the codes key fob before starting is the function of the PCM security.

my ignition switch appears not to have power going to it, no illumination..any idea where it gets its power from?

It is powered by the N1 terminal directly from the auxiliary battery positive cable on ESS equipped wranglers. N2 on etorque models.

What was the last thing you touched on it before it stopped working?

disconnected both batteries, but i checked the fuse array & appears to be good

What makes you think you don’t have power at the switch?

Did you remove the PDC to access the auxiliary battery?
