Knuckles on a rear axle??? Right ?
lol I didnt even realize that. I am drunk. Idk maybe they are the same but the tubes might be a little thicker? who cares anyway? we have the wimpy d30 up front.

With the XR and 392 you can essentially make the rear turn. pretty cool when going reverse.

Have you got an order placed?
No, my original order was rejected, I asked again today and was told it was “highly unlikely“ so I’m not sure what to do at this point. Maybe I’ll try your dealer.

Ask for Chris Gampfer if you do. Tell him Will with the purple Rubi order sent you from the Wrangler JL Forum.

No prob! But hey, don't beat yourself up over that M186 up front, it's stronger and much improved over the D30 of old!
I wheeled a CJ-7 with the stock D30 front, packed with 4.56 gears, a PowerLok LS, turning 35's through the Rubicon countless times 25 years ago... without failure. Of course it had help from a rear D60 with a Detroit locker ? and an overall crawl ratio of 80:1.... it really boils down to driving technique.
But I digress (not relevant to this thread sorry).
Hang loose!

Oh snap you got your VON on the spot?
Is getting a vehicle order number that fast unusual? I had mine within a minute or two of ordering thru email. Or are you thinking VIN?
?

You don't have to mess with lockers unless you actually need them. For the kind of off-roading you've been talking about your limited slip rear and BLD should be more than enough. It'll void your axle/differentials warranty. Nothing else.

3k is a decent quote nowadays though.
Apparently it will void the entire drivetrain. I really wanted to know so I called 2 Jeep dealerships in my area and talked to the service departments and they both told me the same thing. It will void the axles, differentials, drive shafts, transmission and even the engine according to them. ??

Thank you, I appreciate that! I just realized, you didn’t say 392 in your description. Is it a 392? If not, I’m thinking that’s why. 392 is the only one that’s had XR dropped so far.

Yes, it is NOT a 392. You can still give them a call and see if they can order it.

I really doubt itll void the entire drivetrain. That's crazy. So anyone who regeared voided their 5year warranty.... I have a friend who regeared and his transmission died. It got replaced under warranty. Let me ask him if he did the regear before or after the transmission died.

What did you order that was rejected?

392 with XR package. I placed it last week.

Edit: Now I need to decide if I just order the base level 392 or wait to see if an option with 37” gets released. I liked the idea of having 4.56 gears OEM and 35” + beadlock wheels were a nice touch and “good starter”.

I'm only telling you what they told me. All I know after hearing that I wouldn't want to find out the hard way. That would suck.

I ordered a 23 XR rubicon on 9/11 and had a VON & VIN a couple days later.
It must have been accepted, hopefully It will get built as well.
