Apologies if this has been asked a few times.

This is my 3rd Wrangler (TJD, JK, and now JLU4xe).

Looking to replace the crappy highway tires that came with my '22 Wrangler Sahara 4xe. I do a bit of offroading (probably 40-50 miles a month) and a lot of highway driving (~500 miles a month).

I have the 275/55/R20 113/T stock tires. I don't necessarily care about highway noise or highway ride since it's my third Wrangler, and I have a soft top.

Located in Southern California, and I go out to the desert mostly. Lots of pointy rocks and limited recovery options. I've already had some issues with the stock tires a couple times. A bit of mountains and snow (but not a lot). Sometimes to Utah for snow and other off-roading.

Looking to replace with the existing size. I'd also like a warranty if possible.

I've narrowed it down to: BFG KO2, Bridgestone Revo 3 (had this on my last JK 2-door), Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015, Toyo Open Country A/T III, and Nitto Ridge Grappler. Not tied to any of these. Also, I'm open to other suggestions.

Thank you for any help in advance.

I currently have Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires on my jeep. I'm due for tires on my pickup next year. I'm looking at the Falken Wildpeak A/T for that. The Mickey Thompson is on the more aggressive side of A/T and the Falken on the milder side. Even milder would be the Michelin A/T

I've driven the Mojave probably 40+ years. I'd run a E rated tire for it's durability in the sharp rocks. But you'll get a lot of pushback on jeep forums about E rated tires.

I just noticed you have 20" wheels. I'd highly recommend you ditch those in favor of some 17" wheels. Rubicon take-offs are plentiful most of the time. You'll get a lot of capability just going to them. It will give you the ability to air down for the sand out in the Mojave. Trust me. Airing down will make a huge difference in whether you get stuck or just float on down the trail.

I just got a set of Falken Wildpeak R/T's a few weeks ago. Nice looking tires and quiet on the road. Check out some Youtube vids on them. They have really stepped up thier game.

Good suggestions. I had michelins on my TJD and they were okay. Nothing too special.

I'm leaning toward the Falkens now. I can get a D rated (in an LT) or an XL rated. Probably going to get the D rated for the rocks in the Mojave Preserve.

You came along about 3 months too late. I gave away my half-life Rubicon wheels and 285/70R17 KO2 tires. They would have worked for you for a couple years or until you decided on something you liked better.

I have some nearly new, less than a year old 37s I can get you into for a song. But you'll need a small lift.

Darn. That would have been ideal. Oh well.

I'm very happy with my Toyo Open Country AT3 tires on 20" wheels. I'm running the 295/65-20 (35.1") and they're E rated so a pretty firm ride, but they do offer them in a 275/55 or 275/60 in XL or SL rated which would be more comparable to your stock ride.

Good to know. What's your typical use cases for them?

In some ways the JL rides *too* nice compared to previous gen Wranglers, so part of me wants to go back to the feeling where my dental fillings are going to fall out. So I don't think I'd mind a heftier rating.

Since I put them on a few months ago it's just been on-road use and a couple of times down a sandy dirt road. Nothing exactly taxing. The ride is smooth and quiet through and they look great.

I made my decision. Sticking with the factory rims. Falken Wildpeak A/T3W D rated.

Local tire shop also has these for $200 cheaper out the door than the big names, so that's also a win and can get them in a day.

Looking forward to not worrying about blowing out two tires at once on the trail again.

Thanks, all for the feedback!

If you don't mind, post some photos with the new tires when you get a chance. Also, I dig the 4xe Sarge n' Tan top combo! :like:
