I am still on the fence with the JL Subwoofer. There is something to be said for simplicity and JL likely matched the speaker well. Another big factor for me is theft the stealth box looks stock and is bolted to the Jeep. I bough a Jeep because of soft top and ability to pull off the doors. I am Houston so most of the time I drive the jeep it will be wide open for prying eyes. I though about buying cheap box to just set in the back so if it gets stolen I can replace it without being out several hundred dollars. I already have a Rockford shallow mount 10" so something like this box could work and if its stolen I am not out much money.
Although my build is done, I'd love to hear the JL stealthbox sub and see how it compares to something else, all other things being equal. It's super annoying that they charge so damn much for it, and I wish there was an option for a higher quality speaker to go along with it. A big part of the reason why I went with the SSV enclosure, so I could pick out a much better sub.

Yeah I’m not too sure I’ll be happy with one 10” sub in the back, especially when I have the top off. I thought about building a down fire box for 2 subs in the cargo area and make the height as short as possible. Then I could pull it out if I needed the space for camping or trips. Another thought was a box under the back seat but then you wouldn’t be able to fold them down.

I think it would be ideal under the back seat but I want the ability to fold my seats down on occasion. If the sub is closer to you then in theory you should hear it better with the top down. I had a prefab Q-bomb downfire box in my F150 with a 10" shallow mount RF sub. It had enough bass for me and I could pull it easily when I needed the space. I still have that box but it will not fit because the hump in the middle of Jeep and the seat post. The ebay guy said the seat post are designed to be retractile. My Jeep is in for a repair already :( so I cannot confirm it.

Im going to order it and try to get it to fit. Will report back.
Did you ever try out the JL amp rack on the 2-door? JL's support didn't have any useful info on this topic.

Thank you! Speccing out a build for my upcoming JLR.

I did. Have it under the passenger seat and it fits perfectly.

Awesome, thank you. I somehow missed your reply, and ended up going down the path of installing the amps in the rear cargo tub. It's not too late to change course and use the under seat amp racks, but the amps I got (JL XD800/8 and XD1000/1) are just a bit too wide for those.

Do you think there is 3 more inches of width to spare, e.g. if I wanted to use an amp that is 3" wider than the bracket? Assume I would use some strapping or equivalent to extend the mounting holes. Thanks again.
