  1. CEL on after possible ESS / Battery issue

I was having starting issues with mine and hopped on this website and did the Fuse 42 bypass. Everything seems fine until my girlfriend drives the Jeep and doesn’t hit the button to bypass the ESS and does short trips. The the ESS warning light comes on. Should I replace the the AUX battery and...
  2. Deleted Aux Battery. Pulled Fuse F42 - ESS Started Working???

I did the fuse 42 removal and removed the ground lead. The ESS still works I have been bypassing it by hitting the button on the dash. My girlfriend has had the warning light come on when she drives it. I ask her if she turns off the ESS and she said no she doesn’t. So I think she may be...
  3. JL Jeep Audio / RF DSR1 Set up files.

I guess better late than never to respond. It sounds good but I have not spent much time tweaking it. Now I am having issues with my set up. This is my second time to have engine noise issues with this set up. I do not think the DSR1 would be causing this problem but I will post back if that...
  4. JL Jeep Audio / RF DSR1 Set up files.

I guess it just needed updating again it has been solid ever since. I still have not finished my install of everything else. The audio set up feels way different then my RF 3.6.3 I may just be getting old but I prefer that interface even though it requires a pc.
  5. Anyone install 6.5” speakers in JL soundbar? If so how did you do this? Any help would be appreciate

I ordered the SSV adapters and have just been too busy to install them. I do notice the stock speakers in the roll bar have some mid range bass. I am wondering if I put my Morel 6.5 coaxles if I will loose the low end and then be forced to get a subwoofer sooner?
  6. JL Jeep Audio / RF DSR1 Set up files.

Yes they pretty much said the same thing you said. Reset to factory then reload the software from idatalink. I loaded all the recent software right before I installed it. I ordered a longer USB-C cable so I can do it without removing it from the Jeep. You have to unplug the harness. Funny I...
  7. JL Jeep Audio / RF DSR1 Set up files.

My jeep sits in the garage most of the week but not always. This has happened 2 weeks in a row now. I am pretty sure it sat less than 4 days between each time. I updated all the software right before my install. The other thing I might check is all my IOS devices. I may have the RF perfect tune...
  8. JL Jeep Audio / RF DSR1 Set up files.

I installed my DSR1 a few weeks ago but now have a problem. If I do not use my Jeep for a couple of days the radio will not have sound. I have to connect with the perfect tune app and turn the master volume back up. It defaults to zero after a few days. For instance I did this on Friday morning...
  9. How to Secure a Subwoofer? Brainstorm with me?

You mind linking some examples of what JL boxes you are recommending?
  10. How to Secure a Subwoofer? Brainstorm with me?

I was just doing research on that question. I been considering a single 10" ported box. I had a friend years ago that had an 8" JL audio in a ported box that hit so hard yet very clean. I never forgot that so I been considering ported. I wish I had the fiberglass skills to make a custom box for...
  11. How to Secure a Subwoofer? Brainstorm with me?

Thanks for checking that out I got my Jeep back last night :sun:. I would love to get something like you are describing too. I am terrible with carpentry stuff and would need plans to pull a box like this off. You think software like this would work to design one that fits? Here is another...
  12. New Stereo Install

I think it would be ideal under the back seat but I want the ability to fold my seats down on occasion. If the sub is closer to you then in theory you should hear it better with the top down. I had a prefab Q-bomb downfire box in my F150 with a 10" shallow mount RF sub. It had enough bass for me...
  13. New Stereo Install

I am still on the fence with the JL Subwoofer. There is something to be said for simplicity and JL likely matched the speaker well. Another big factor for me is theft the stealth box looks stock and is bolted to the Jeep. I bough a Jeep because of soft top and ability to pull off the doors. I am...
  14. How to Secure a Subwoofer? Brainstorm with me?

I have not confirmed what the seller said below but I ask for a photo of one in the JL. I also fold my seats down often to load larger items so the box needs to be easily removed. That is why I liked the Q bomb boxes under the seats in my trucks in the past. Small footprint easily removed and...
  15. Adding an Aftermarket Amp(s)

I agree with you. I tried the procedure before the DSR1 install and not was able to get the corresponding horn honks. After installing the DSR1 it worked. So must be looking for some kind of handshake from the DSR1.
  16. New Stereo Install

I have a nice punch mono amp but it would be easier to install a 5 channel for Knee & Roll + Sub then add a small amp for the tweeters & remove the crossovers. I need to do this in phases so right now I need to pick an amp and figure out a good solution for my subwoofer. My fiberglass skills are...
  17. How to Secure a Subwoofer? Brainstorm with me?

Hey guys I know this is an older thread but the title is still relevant. I am exploring my options for the subwoofer location as well. This is my first jeep in the past I always had crew cab trucks so default location was under the rear seat. I do not want to shell the $$$ for the JL Audio...
  18. New Stereo Install

You have to buy a vehicle specific T-Harness from idatalink for a Jeep without the premium system its a dCH3 if you do have the premium its the aCH4. Man I wish I would of done that now that you said that about the time alignment. I used the crossovers because I did not have a 6 channel amp...
  19. Adding an Aftermarket Amp(s)

So potentially could be as simple as switching to amplified mode and splitting the speaker wires adding RCA's. As for the DSR1 I have seen post on another forum it works in the JL Jeep.
  20. Adding an Aftermarket Amp(s)

I should get mine done this weekend and I will let you know how it goes. One thing that puzzled me is the can bus connector so I called them. 3 plugs come out of the harness provided by idatalink which hook to one of the ports on the DSR1. One of the black plugs is already hooked into the dCH3...
