This is a pretty cool development, and at least some of the Raptor buyers will immediately pull the 37's off and put 39's or 40's on, so barely used 37 Ko2's will hopefully be on Craigslist.

I learned the following while researching my recent tire purchase. I went with 315 Ko2's, C rating. But the 315 E rated and 37" D rated in a KO2 aren't much heavier. The first numbers below are all from the Tire Rack. The numbers in ( ) are from Discount Tire. BFG used to have specs on their website, but they aren't there anymore. Also, it doesn't seem like there is a 315 D. At least not anymore.

Ko2
285/70/R17 C 51 lbs (51 lbs)
285/70/R17 E 58 lbs (58 lbs)
315/70/R17 C 65 lbs (65 lbs)
315/70/R17 E 68 lbs (64 lbs - must be a mistake)
37 x 12.5 x R17LT D 69 lbs (70 lbs)

I have no idea why a 315 C is 14lbs heavier than a 285 C, and why a 37 D is only 1-4 lbs heavier than a 315 C or E.

Anyway, this is a long winded way of saying that I think the 37 Ko2 rated should probably weigh 66 or 67 lbs, which is light. Ko2's are among the lightest in both 315's and 37's.

The weights are so similar that I wonder if there is any real difference between C's and D's/E's, at least in Ko2's.

Regarding the specs...I came across an article with the following info.

“The new 37-inch tire (37x12.5R17) is a Raptor-specific load-range "C" model that measures out to about 36.5 inches and weighs about 68 pounds.”

Cool that is 1.5lbs light, doesn’t sound like much but in a giant spinning disk that carries most of its weight on the outter edge, I think it will impact equivalent Spinning mass by a decent amount

weight difference between 285 and 315 are likely related to the tire width (tread carries a lot of the weight), it makes sense that the 37 is only a little bit heavier than the 35 but I would have expected a little more.

very excited about these tires, and honestly like the d-rated as well (especially the white lettering). my next tire will likely be the c rated 37 BFG's, I currently have 315 c rated that I took off of the raptor I used to have and love them but 37s would be awesome

I wonder if this means they stop producing the 315 version

I doubt it, most Raptors will probably still come with 315's....the 37 option is likely going to be very expensive, they have a completely different suspension and frame as well as less travel to accommodate the 37s

not to mention the bazillion Raptors already on the street that run those tires.

these tires are being made for this vehicle. which means they will probably be expensive for a while due to limited production.
