Any progress?
Had to use two picks to pull it out. It’s a tight fit. Pressing the tab wasn’t the issue. The fit into the tazer is just as tight.

From those pics it looks like some guys are squeezing on the wrong part of the tab. If you simply lay your finger on the side facing the firewall, the connectors will release. Mine practically fall right out. Piece of cake.

I wouldn't want to scuff up that area around the module and make it look like it's been tampered with. It's supposed to be a secret that we're bypassing that thing. :)

Anyone up for making and sharing a video? I’d try but I don’t have my Jeep yet.

I Installed the Tazer jl last night and adjusted my tire size to 37's and it actually worked! Gas mileage is back up 16-18 range with my 6 speed. Have one question though. Do I need to leave the bypass module plugged in at all times? It didn't say anywhere in the instructions about leaving it in or removing it along with the actual Tazer module. I've never had a programmer before so not real familiar with the ins and outs.

@TexasAG90

You have a Rubicon. Leave the TazerJL and SWG bypass module attached.
Live features require this. Research what the TazerJL can do. It is not just a tire size programmer.

I'm aware of all the benefits. I'll leave them both plugged in. I was honestly just wary of the programmer causing any issues with the electronics in the jeep.

I agree a more detailed owners manual would help with newbies understanding programmers.

There are already 3 such videos.No need for more. This is not rocket science.
Interesting. I wonder how there continues to be so much discussion dedicated to those darn tabs. I would assume that anyone spending days of time, buying new tools, and even fabricating tools to help with this... has watched the 3 videos mentioned by @Rhinebeck01.

Either the videos aren't being watched, or they're not covering what's needed - or @Rhinebeck01 is wrong and this *is* harder than we'd all expect it to be and 3 videos simply can't capture it.

Maybe I'll find out when I install my Tazer in 2037 when Jeep starts making the darn turbos.

@drm700
@mda0303

If you are current or past Military you can get a 10% discount.

Not sure why the forum code is not working... @joe@zauto

For the same 5% off, this code will work: JeepInformant2

@TexasAG90

Drew, there really are no issues "with the electronic" when leaving the TazerJL and the companion SWG Bypass module plugged in all the time.

I do think you might want to consider a $7.00+ extender cable so you can get the TazerJL up under the dash and out of sight.

If you are a guy the takes the top down, doors off, leaves doors unlocked, etc. the programmer is in plain view and with easy access and thus there is a risk that some nitwit will reach in an snag it/steal it.

You can relocate the OBDll port up say 5 " more (easy to do but you'd have to put back each time you went to dealership service dept.) or just but an inexpensive, 12" extender cable.

Read here about the extender cable:
