A cow is more aerodynamic than a Jeep...
1754090986042-ht.png
How does aerodynamic's come into play if the jeep runs into a cow or the cow runs into the jeep. If my jeep runs into a cow, steak dinners for me and the tow-truck driver bringing the jeep back home ......

I assumed he was joking, but maybe not?

Yeah, it's been "a while" since I've been to a drive in.
Yep...same here, but there are still a few survivors and they are usually pretty popular and cheaper than a regular theater. I enjoy the "retro" experience and try to support them whenever I can, but there just aren't that many around.

It's funny that the first thing I thought of was like, sonic drive-in - it's a kinda meh fast food place where you can order from the parking lot and they bring it out to you. So I was sitting here thinking "why would you want your windshield down when you're eating?" lol :D

Having it down while watching a movie could be nice! I agree.

I am one of the others you reference. The rest of the world has caught up with Jeeps off-road capability. If it was not for the removable doors and roof, Jeep would have more competition for my dollar on the car lot.
Totally agreed…they better keep the folding windshield and have the half door option again with the next generation or they will loose even more customers to Ford. 🤞

Absolutely, because the vast majority of Wrangler owners regularly fold down their windshields and would refuse to buy one if that was taken away, right?

Yeah once it is taken away it’s just less of a Jeep…every other vehicle has a fixed windshield. With the toolbar that stays intact it’s a blast on trail and around town.

Typo…
With the “roll bar that stays intact” not toolbar

I'm not sure what kind of trails they have near whatever "Broward" is, but doesn't it block your visibility over the hood?

the biggest practicality of folding down a windshield is so that your view isn't obstructed by dirt and mud landing on a windshield.

as for the other point, i can't imagine the view on the JL is any worse than my tj with the front half cage.

in any case, i'd rather fold down my windshield than have adaptive cruise control. i wonder if it can be removed from my willys without causing the computer to panic. having that square there is dumb.

I use adaptive cruise control every time I drive. I'll never lower the windshield.
I've often stated the Wrnagler adaptive cruise is better than I've experienced in several Honda products.

With the roll structure, and the curved windshield, the look isn’t good with it down. Tried it, wont do it again. Last Jeep that looked correct with a folded windshield was the TJ.

Other reasons the windshield folded down on the original MB/GPW and later military versions, were for ease of camouflage, reducing glass reflection to to the enemy, and the ability to fire weapons from the seated position.

I figured it was because they shipped them in crates and they took a lot less space with the windshield folded down.

Originally yeah, but the practicality of the folding windshield proved itself for other reasons. When I was in the Army, there were still a few M151A1 Mutts floating around. When in the field, the windshield was always folded. There was even a canvas covers for jeeps, so that light didn't reflect up to aircraft, when folded.
