Nesting Squirrels. ???

Has anyone else had a problem with squirrels building a nest on top of your battery and chewing out your hood liner? If so, what do you do to stop them and how much does the hood liner cost to replace? Thanks in advance.

Haven't had your problem but plenty of squirrels around my house. I put moth balls underneath my vehicles and has worked for years. They do not like the smell. also dryer sheets under the hood smell good for us but evidently not to them. Put a dryer sheet under your seat and no bugs spiders etc. Good luck.

I had dryer sheets tucked in around my battery. But, I just had it in to have a trailer hitch with 7 pin connector and trailer brake controller installed and I think the guy probably thought “what the F are these for?”and threw them out. Because I had the exact same thing happen to my last Jeep and the guys at the dealership suggested the bounce sheets.

We don’t have those here in New Brunswick. I do have two barn cats coming in August. They’re still being trained by their mother at another farm at the moment. They were born on April 28th.

I have 3 dachshunds, vicious hunters. Plenty of snakes, roadrunners, foxes, coyotes and the occasional mountain lion here too. Haven't seen a rodent bigger than a rabbit in years.

You could try spraying some rags with ammonia, peppermint oil etc. Or even put some moth balls in a sack and leave them in there. If you prefer to not put anything under the hood you could try sprinkling some repellant around the driveway/garage.

We’ve got cows, pigs, chickens and geese. The squirrels hang around because they used to be able to get into the livestock feed. Now, they’re becoming destructive. I had to shoot a raccoon about a month ago because it killed one of our geese. It was a bit overkill on the gun I used to kill the raccoon because the smallest gun I have is 7.62x39 SKS. He was a smoking mess.

I kid you not. They are vicious hunters. Don’t let their looks fool you. If these dogs weighed 100 lbs each, they would be dangerous. They have many acres to roam, and their work is never done.

Consider installing some metal screen over your air intake. Mice love to set up shop in there, if they do it'll stink like hell!
