Install one of these blue sea switches. Kid will think it has a dead battery.

Is this one of those shit posting threads that the Porsche-a guy said we always get into?

Will we find out this is @Tredsdert alt-account and the neighbor kid put a ding in the passenger rear quarter panel?

Interesting strategy on loving your Jeep more than your wife. Let's see how this plays out. 🍿

That's the real solution. All he has to do is tell the wife he loves the Jeep more. She'll make damn sure she gets it in the divorce and he'll never have to worry about who's driving it or where it's parked again.

Long story short, I travel for large parts of the year. I leave my Wrangler at my neighbors house, parked in his garage. Well the last time I did this, his 16 year old kid took my jeep to school without asking me or his dad. I'm not super agro about that, just wish he called me so I could have told him no. But I was in an area where time zones were a mess (16 hours ahead). That said, I'm going to be leaving my Jeep Wrangler at my neghbors house for at least 3 months this year. I want to set off the check engine light or other error behavior to dissuade someone from driving it. Like if their garage is on fire, I would vary much like them to move my car out of the fire... or if they just need to move it around to get farm equipment in and out.

How can I give my 2021 Jeep Wrangler ecodiesel a check engine line easily and one that won't break the car if it's ran for a short period of time with the light on. Or it could be something other like the guage cluster no longer works or signalling doesn't work.

I do have a Tazer JL installed but couldn't find any way to use that for my purpose.

Thoughts? Winning suggestion will get a Starbucks or Subway gift card.

I'm guessing the answer might be to pull the dash relay but I'm afraid thats going to stop the start button from working.
That's a tough one...

The only thing I could think of that might be able to help you with that goal is the fuse box. One of these days when you got a free weekend, start pulling fuses which aren't related to major systems and have a buddy start the Jeep. If it starts and throws a check engine light, but isn't a fuse for anything super important, I would just keep that fuse in your glove box or something.

Actually here's another thought, You could remove the batteries in your key fobs. I'm not sure if your neighbors son would be able to figure out that you need to press the key fob into the start button and use the RFID chip to start the vehicle without the battery, but that might be an option.
