I'm buying a used jeep 2022 with 3 k Sahara 4e long story short I bought it on my way home I get the death wobble scared the shit out me I took it back same day to the dealer they say it's steering stabliser damper.
I find that hard to belive

My question is should I walk away from this truck as the dealer is willing to add a warranty to it or take it back I need people's opinion. I realky like the jeep but just don't want issues right from the start they want warranty it 5 year 100k miles through sheild

Why? It's possible the OEM stabilizer went bad.

Is the vehicle modified with larger tires or a lift? Those can easily contribute to a failed OEM stabilizer.

Death wobble is caused by something out of spec in the front suspension. Either a loose component, bent mounts, worn out bushings etc. steering stabilizers don’t fix the underlying issue, they serve to mitigate the effects. Lifts, bigger tires, etc magnify problems. Long story short, check the torque on fasteners and look for worn out bushings (or take it to a good mechanic familiar with solid front axles and have them do it). A new steering stabilizer won’t fix the problem, it will just hide it.

return it....you said you don't want issues from the start and you have already had issues on your way home......It is not normal for a 2 year old going on 3 year old vehicle to have only 3000 miles on it. If you buy this jeep I expect to see more posts about how the dealership can't fix your issues....and the lemon law only is for the original owners and how you are fighting with the dealership because the aftermarket warranty is terrible.....good luck..

Guessing this might have been towed behind an RV. If it only has 3k miles on it, but was towed for 60k you have 63k miles on the suspension.
Death wobble is almost always a lose trackbar or worn out trackbar bushing.
If they want to replace the damper, then their tech doesn't know wranglers. That would tell you all you need to know.

Never used a third party warranty myself. If I had an issue driving it home on the first day of purchase, I would return it and get all of my money back.

Not sure of the history could have been someone's second or third car? To me it seems to big to be towed. They seem to want work it out I explained to them the safety concern and they said they will change stabliser retorque all bolts and do balance and alignment thoughts?

Jeeps are not too big to be flat towed, they are probably the most popular flat towed vehicle behind RVs.

Retorquing everything might help, but if there is a worn out bushing or joint in the track bar, steering components, or worn out ball joints, then torquing will do nothing.

I didn't see it mentioned (but I could have missed it) that it is very common for worn out ball joints in the JL to cause death wobble.

On the surface, it sounds like the dealer is trying to make it right. However . . . . he also REALLY wants to be rid of it. I think post #9 nails it. I'd move on from this one since there is no history.

The factory stabilizer is a known failure point. It's had like 3 recalls and has an extended warranty on the part itself due to the excessive failures it has. If the vehicle is otherwise stock just let them replace the stabilizer and enjoy the Jeep.
