Need Help with Taser

So, my Jeep has quite a few mods on it, and I have a Tazer Mini. Things changed are, 5.38 gears, No FAD, No Power steering. This morning I got the P0456 code on the Jeep, and I'm going to take it to service Monday. I do work at the dealership, btw. Anyway, I know there might be a few updates related to the code, and from what I've read I have to unmarry the Tazer, and unplug it. How exactly does that work? I can't drive it without the Tazer cause of the stuff that has changed. I'll get all kinds of error codes. Should I just let the tech park it in his stall, and do all that, then when he is done plug it back in and marry it? Obviously my knowledge on these things is very limited, but based off what I know I should't drive it without the Tazer. Any help is most appreciated. Thank you.

Those changes aren't "live" functions, so you should be able to remove it. The changes stay even after you remove the tazer. That said, you shouldn't have to remove it, especially since you work at the dealership. If they can't treat you a little preferentially, they suck. Leaving it in shouldn't prevent them working on it.

It's not about the warranty or any of that. I read on google that if they have to do any updates that they sometimes don't play nice with the taser installed and you should remove for any. It also said that with the tazer the dongle we connect can't talk to the sgw.

What you read is correct, the Tazer can interfere. But that should only be for any computer/ECM updates they need to perform. If that's necessary, unmarry the Tazer at the dealership, do the update, re-marry the Tazer, check Tazer settings. All while the Jeep remains parked to avoid codes.

I change nothing, but not live. After getting “Service 4WD, Output Shaft Speed- Wheel Speed” after gears and tires. I took it to the dealer to recalibrate. ….. Their Resolution

So, if my research and what you’re telling me is understood. I’m a little slow with this.

I buy the JScan license, a sgw module, one of the Bluetooth plugins, do all my changes then plug in my tazer? Can I use the sgw cable I already have with the tazer and plug the Bluetooth module into then plug the tazer back in after I change the stuff with jscan?


Sorry, lots of stupid questions. If I change everything with jscan what do I do with the tazer settings on the stiff I changed with both? I.e. I delete the power steering with jscan, do I also delete it with tazer? Hope these make sense.


I like some of the tazer features like the cool down, line lock and a few others.
