You'd be surprised at how many things gain quick traction especially when they start off as you did lolOh I get it. Haha. I'm not phased. Honestly didn't think the post could gain enough traction to get the "we need pics" posts.

My guess would be for some sort of fog light or pod light that the original owner harvested before trading in. Can you see anything on the corner cowl pieces or down in the bumper area where lights may have been mounted? The good news is if the wiring is still connected properly (test w a volt meter) you can connect any old LED light to it. Even if the light doesn't have this connector you can cut this connector off and hard wire it using shrink wrap and sealant tape.![]()

I got pictures. Not much more than this. The wire is connected to battery and controlled from a on/off switch.
Any idea?
This was the first thing I did, and no visible markings or inclination that a light was mounted, so I assumed maybe a light bar that had the cowl bracket, etc.My guess would be for some sort of fog light or pod light that the original owner harvested before trading in. Yeah the lite bar would be a good guess too. Is it only one connector? If it is then it probably was a lite bar. This was the first thing I did, and no visible markings or inclination that a light was mounted, so I assumed maybe a light bar that had the cowl bracket, etc.
Yes it is still connected and powered. So good to know.
Yes only one, which was my first tell that it was probably a light bar. Just seemed like an odd connector is all.Yeah the lite bar would be a good guess too. Is it only one connector? If it is then it probably was a lite bar.
Sounds to me like you answered your own question when you stated where the plug comes out. There's only three things people typically put in that location on Jeeps. One of those three is a high lift jack, the other two might be possible answers for you.Hey All,
So the new to me jeep has a on/off toggle mounted inside from what I can assume was existing off road lights/light bar that may have existed. The wiring is still installed from this toggle and tied into battery, I've followed it by the cowl behind the hood and it stops on the driver's side with a female 3 pin waterproof threaded connector..
Sorry I don't have pics of it currently, but does anyone know what style of light/equipment this may have been for? I want to add lights and if this could be a plug and play type of install for me I could be easily swayed.
Thanks!![]()

So now in typical forum fashion I will hijack the thread to talk to Tredsert about back glass. FYI I blew out my back window and picked this up from Kool Katz, $450 shipped. It's legit, made in USA, well made and will be installing soon.Sounds to me like you answered your own question when you stated where the plug comes out. I have a rough country light bar that has the same plug. I also have two tube lights that I got from China which also have the same plug.
Can't imagine what that plug could be for in that location.![]()
