Well, I watched and enjoyed it, nice work! As much as I hate to admit it, 25 yo me would have tried that in a second but 50 something me has gotten, well lets say, less adventurous, damn it.
I was 50 when I did it. It really is simpler than a lot of people make it look. A good spotter goes a long ways!!

Off road noob here...completely stock Rubi XR? Which engine? Tell us what other config settings you used (Sway bar, lockers, what air pressure did you air down to, did you use select speed control while standing etc.)
I did it in a completely stock 6MT JLUR, no XR. I did have 35's, the only thing that wasn't stock for me. My sway bar is disconnected as soon as I hit any trail, smooths out the ride, A LOT!! For Hell's Gate, lock em if you got em. I don't know that I'd recommend it without lockers. I air down to 15 psi whenever I'm on the trail.

If you are a complete noob I'd cut your teeth on some of the other trails first. Fins n Things and 7 Mile Rim are good for figuring out what your Jeep, and you, are capable of. Fins n Things is really just a smaller scale version of Hell's Revenge in a lot of ways.

When you're on the trail and are approaching an obsticle, get out, survey the obsitcle, and find your line, even if you have an experienced spotter. Have your spotter show you the line. This will help you to learn to figure out lines on your own.

You bought the Rubi for a reason. You only live once. :)

I drove about 1,200 miles down from Alberta just to do Hells Gate back in 2013. I drove down the entrance, turned around and drove back up the entrance, then I did it again just for fun.
Third time down I drove around to the exit up to the bottom of the Gate and not gonna lie, I stared at it for quite a while before finally committing. I just kept telling myself “I drove a lot of miles just for this specific obstacle” so I had to do it.
Out of the four Jeeps in our group I was the only one the went up the Gate.?
That trip I had my previous LJ Rubicon on 33’s, it walked up without drama and I didn’t have a spotter for any of the descents or ascents. Fun times.

I'm probably going to get blasted for this, but there have been many times in life where I have put being able to clearly see what I'm doing as a safety measure that sometimes has priority over other safety measures. Other senses might get prioritized at times as well like not always wearing gloves, because sometimes you might need to feel whats going on.

Yeah, this. Being able to see better IS a safety measure. And doing something like driving Hell's Gate is NOT safe, so for people to preach about how others are doing it unsafely... I dunno. Seems silly. Do it how you gotta do it.

No, hell no, regarding select speed control. Ever. I am controlling the throttle.
I've only tried uphill speed control once and that was when playing around on China Wall. It kinda blew my mind how easily it crawled up it.

I hooked up with a few guys from PA at the dinosaur tracks near the beginning.
Dinosaur tracks on Hell's Revenge?? Any idea where? I thought we'd seen most of them in that area. We also love finding petroglyphs.

Right near the start. You do the big fin out of the parking lot, then there's the split where you can go high right or low left through the rocks, then you climb up that ledge and swing left and climb up onto a bench. Up there, there are some signs and such; it looks like an overlook. But that's where the dino tracks are. Like .4ish miles from the trailhead, I think.

That's a mostly-stock Rubicon Xtreme Recon. I have added an engine/oil pan skid plate and ARB diff covers, totally unnecessary for this obstacle. 3.6L etorque. Sway bar disconnected, of course; Essential for articulation. Rear locker engaged, though probably not needed. Front locker not engaged; not needed at least in a Rubi, and engaging the front locker can make quick steering adjustments tough. That's what I would fear most here. Tires are the XR's stock 35-inch KO2s, deflated to 15 PSI. Plenty sufficient for this obstacle--though I have found other spots in Moab where beadlock tires, down to 8 PSI, would be much more effective. I failed to clear the final ledge on the Chute on Flat Iron Mesa two days later because my tires just wouldn't hook up. 37-inch beadlocks at 8 PSI would have made it a breeze. No, hell no, regarding select speed control. Ever. I am controlling the throttle. I am standing on my left foot while working throttle with my right. You should never do this. As others said, keep your seatbelt on and hands inside the Jeep. Always. Only I should do this. ;) LOL.
You just got me VERY excited about my Rubi X. Came with 33"'s (I didn't do the build, lucked into after the builder bailed), but next ones will be 35"s

Nice work!!

The top 25% of the exit is the bugger and where most people panic and have issues. At that point it's so much less about equipment, and so much more about driver skill and keeping calm.
