Been watching the egts and I really like seeing the actual temps instead of just waiting a couple of minutes before shutting the engine off. Better way to do it.

At what temperature do you shut down the engine. I have been using 400F as the point where I feel comfortable doing it. And for ESS, I let ESS stop if temp is below 500F while at a traffic stop.

Im using 450 only because that’s what I thought I saw on this forum. I think I will do a little more searching to find out what temp to use.

Not sure where I saw the 450. Looks like most are waiting until the temp reached 400. I’ll probably shoot for the low 400’s or close to 400.

I try to let it get below 400, but below

The pictures are very helpful. Right now I'm at the stage where the grab handle screws are out and I'm trying to pull it off without (seemingly) yanking the whole A-pillar off the frame. I hate doing stuff like this the very first time.

I am trying to do the same on my new Ecodiesel. The grab handle screws are out but having a tough time pulling it out. In which direction does it come out.

Yep, got it. It was very easy to come out if you take the speaker cover out first. It was the speaker cover coming in the way.

I am trying to do the same on my new Ecodiesel. The grab handle screws are out but having a tough time pulling it out. In which direction does it come out.

I found that there are two “tabs” towards the bottom of the handle that seem to fit under the speaker cover. I pulled the handle to the right and it just popped off. Should have taken a picture of it but didn’t think of it at the time. Not sure these latch on to the bottom of the speaker cover or not.

Yep. Saw those latches and they rest below the speaker cover. I unclipped the speaker cover and the handle just pulled out with no effort. It installed back smoothly and clipped the speaker cover back over it.

For what it's worth, I didn't remove the speaker cover and it still pulled out - but I have forearms like Popeye (not).

Had an expected regen today too. I get one every 700+ miles even though before the regen started STM was at 55%, then when regen starts, I see STM go to 75+ and regen ended at 8% STM. DPF temps go between 750-800F.

That's interesting. I thought that the Ecodiesel would go on without ever having an active regen as long as it was passively taking care of business.

Yeah, but I always get a regen before I hit 60%. Unless, after some %, Scangauge is not reading the actual soot level. In that case, with my routine daily driving my Jeep gets to 80% between 700-800 miles and regen starts. Could be a false low number being reported by Scangauge after a certain point?
And this is my second diesel Jeep, behaving the same way as my first one.
