If they do a fastback, I'm not getting one for sure. On another note, I reaaallly hope they introduce a tan soft top like they're doing on 2018 JKs.
TAN SOFT TOP !! Finally, at the very End, Colors ! Much better for those hot Summer days, interior won't heat up as much

I hope a fastback design will make a large JL/JLU look smaller.
This has been in the cards for a while (as long as those old IFS rumours that didn't bear fruit), and while it reduces not only the visuals but the actual interior volume, the loss of space is still minor while the aerodynamic improvement is major.

To get an idea of the look, look at the Bestop Trektop, it should also improve the self-cleaning nature of the rear window of the soft-top which currently suck road dirt & grime onto the rear window, same with mist and rain.

The cast-look front diff cover looks too detailed for a metal casting.

Fastback design? (I hope!)

I seriously doubt FCA will come out with a fastback top for the JL. I feel like if they were we would have seen a test mule with one by now. As far as I know we haven't. I do however have no doubts that aftermarket company will continue to make fastback tops like they do for the current JK.

It sure looks like a "mild fastback" design hidden under that camo...

Maybe a slight rake, but not a fastback. A vehicle has to have roof line that slopes continuously downward like the orange Jeep I posted to be considered a fastback. With that logic, anything with even the slightest rake would be considered a fastback and that's not the case. We can just go around calling everything and anything "Fastback".

What we mean is that the fast back is well camo'd. Here's some lines. Pink is ACTUAL roof shape based on the ridges, blue is the portion of empty camo:

Did you click on the links above? Unless you think the 2 door is going to look that different than the 4 door it's clearly not that angled. This pic shows it and there's no way the back is fake here given where the rear glass and spare tire are located.
