Removed the MORE Dead Pedal from my 2019 and tried to install in my 2024, but Jeep changed the metal support in the footwell from steel to aluminum and there are no longer any mounting holes.

The aluminum support is a slightly different shape and has a bulge at the bottom making a flat installation difficult.

Has anyone done this?

I called MORE and they advised to just drill two holes in the aluminum support. Getting things lined up properly under there is difficult due to the cramped space and the bulge in the aluminum bracket.

I also have a 2024 and works like to install one of these but I hear the same thing. If you find one that works, let me know

I saw this thread after I ordered the MORE dead pedal for my 2024.

I chose the MORE pedal, even though the installation looked more difficult than others, because the pedal looked good and did not go all the way to the floor. Other models completely block the left foot well, so you are committed to resting your foot there. The MORE pedal looks like it allows you to put your foot on, or under.

When I ordered the pedal, it was not clear there was anything different about the 2024 model year.

> Fits 2018-current Jeep Wrangler JLs including 4xe

I see now that at the bottom of the page, if I had scrolled that far, it adds:

> 2024 models will have to drill the holes that are no longer there from the factory

Maybe I wouldn't have ordered the pedal if I had been paying attention, but after receiving it I decided to give installation a try since I still preferred this pedal style over others.

I installed this at the same time I added the Desert Does It seat jackers under the driver seat. That was deliberate. I was able to get the driver's seat out of the way, which I recommend.

It might be better to take the seat completely out, but this was enough room for me.

So here's the 2024 aluminum bracket without any holes:

I wondered if it would be obvious where to mount it without any guides, but that wasn't a problem:

The top curve of the MORE bracket fits into the curve of the Jeep bracket.

That is easier said than done. The brake pedal is in the way, and it is hard to get a drill into the location.

What I did was first use a standard battery drill to drill the support hole towards the right of the photo. I marked it, moved the bracket out of the way, then finished the hole with a step bit. The drill was behind the brake pedal, so I was able to drill it mostly straight on.

Then I bolted the bracket into position using the hole I created. That enabled me to drill through the bracket to make the second hole on the top left.

But there was no way for me to drill the upper hole using the same tools because of the proximity of the brake. I had to use a right angle drill and my step bit, because it was more compact than a regular bit.

With the two holes drilled, installation was not difficult:

I used some tape to keep the back bracket in place until I could get a nut started.

I'm totally fine with how the install came out, and in hindsight it doesn't seem a tremendous amount of work.

However, I can't recommend anyone else do this. Consider the drills you have available, and whether you could fit them into this space.

The MORE pedal is high quality, but I don't think it's acceptable going forward for new customers to drill the missing mounting holes themselves. I would like to see the company consider an alternate mount, like a clip that goes over the side bracket, and which could be secured using the firewall bolt everyone else is using. Just a suggestion.

And while they are at it, they should thread the three mounting locations on the bracket so the position could be changed from the interior, with the bracket installed. Having to take the entire assembly completely out for each adjustment is too much.

I have the Quadratec one in my 2024. Mounts same as previous years and seems pretty sturdy so far but I have had less than a month

I posted about this dead pedal last year after installing it into my 24 JL Willys. At the time there was nothing on their website about drilling holes for 2024 models. Maybe my phone call compelled them to add the disclaimer of having to drill holes. They sent me a return shipping label after telling them I wasn't drilling any holes. Then I remembered I had bought and used just one time a dewalt right angle drill extension which is a must have tool to drill the holes into the bracket. Once it was installed I realized I should have mounted the foot rest in the center location instead of the third farther away hole. It was all a royal PITA. I wouldn't recommend this pedal for anyone owning a 2024 model. Unless you want to spend the entire installation time cursing like a drunken sailor.

IMHO This is more of a toe rest than a dead pedal.

I bought the MORE pedal and installed it in my 2022. Worth every penny. Install is a pain but easy enough to do with patience.

Just came in from installing a dead pedal from Metalcloak. Hardest part was deciding which adjustment holes to use. One nut attaches it to the firewall.

I installed the More on my '24. That was a pain in the back! I used a small C-Clamp to hold the plate in place, and drilled the holes with a 90 degree air drill. Metal shavings everywhere.

With my heel on the ground it firmly supports the ball of my foot. I did end up moving it fully forward.

And compare to what is supporting the other foot.

Still not a dead pedal.
A dead pedal should be able to withstand all your leg strength and push you back firmly in your seat.
Love it in my old commercial vehicles.

It does this for me, but I acknowledge there are drivers of all weight categories.

I'm getting older and fatter. At 200 now.
I'll let the forum know what the upper limit is when the pedal finally collapses. :)

After having a M.O.R.E dead pedal in my previous two Jeeps, I also missed the fine print and got one for 24. I know my limitations, and I don't need this kind of headache. What really sucks is that this appears to be the only dead pedal that will work with the 4xe. I would love to be wrong about that- any other options?
