Today I'm attempting my first ever suspension lift installation. Armed with several views of various youtube install videos, I'm forging ahead with the Mopar lift for my 4xe. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at loosening the aft bolts on both front, upper control arms. The 18mm nut is just not turning, and I'm beginning to round the nut.

I've tried both a deep socket with breaker bar & an impact wrench without success. At this point I either need to abort my effort or continue with both aft UCA bolts tight. I'm figuring it will be OK left tight. Image of the offending nut.

How critical is it to loosen both sides of the UCA for this installation?

That’s a flag nut, it’s not going to move , you need to be loosening the bolt instead. Loosen from the other side..

That is a flange nut. Do not put a wrench on that. Loosen the bolt from other side

Finished up the lift installation and then installed my "37" inch KO2's. Looks good and drives near stock (on road only, so far). Thanks, again, for the quick help on Sunday.
Pics as promised.

Jeep looks awesome. Congrats on doing the install yourself. I too did my first lift on my JL, and loved doing it.

In my case, I had a hard time loosening the lower control arm bolts. Even a 1,200lbs breakaway torque electrical impact couldn't take it out. Had to use two breaker bars - one pushed by a floor jack :)

Sounds like you had no such issue. I'm glad you didn't spin that flag nut off. I actually spun one of the factory (inside the frame) welded nuts trying to force fit a skid plate and had to use a flag nut to complete the install. Every project must have
