I'm getting close to ordering our new 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys with the big tires package (Recon package) and the V6 Pentastar engine and other options. The question is, other than increasing the cost of the vehicle and more crap under the hood to deal with when performing maintenance, is the Mopar Cold Air Intake worth it!?
I can not find any information about it? Does it make the engine louder? Stronger? Make my wife envious of it compared to her EcoDiesel fully loaded Willys?
Thank you in advance for insight and opinions!

I want to do that cold air intake tube by Mopar…it’s larger in diameter…no resonator/baffle nonsense like the stock tube…and I’m gonna connect it to a safari snorkel. Perfect for my overland rock crawler build.

I was considering flowmasters whole cai snorkel combo…however the metal rusts easy and looks like hot garbage…and don’t trust those connection points…wish volant still made cai snorkel combos(mildly annoyed)

Idk if these “cold air intakes” actually do justice…sure it’s a sale scam with some truth to it hidden in lies…but these jl’s are new to me…and I’m having fun building a rig out…so I can’t complain much 🤷🏼‍♂️

None... but it pays well.
I’ve had the Mopar CAI since it first came out in 2019. It does draw cold air from the hood vent, there is a slight increase in intake noise and there may be a slight increase in power but it’s been a long time since it was installed so I don’t remember.

Loosing part of the hood decal kept that option a non option for me... now that Moab Steel Hoods are readily available, the option may come into play with some air intake routing mods.

My position on CAI is that more power may not show up on a dyno but that doesn't mean your throttle response doesn't improve. That will make you feel like there's more power. That aspect of an improvement is why I have one (Mishimoto) installed on my 2L. Having put several brands of them on various v-twin motorcycles, I can say they vary in their effectiveness. I had one that made a huge difference, some not that much and others somewhere in between. Having a tuner for your vehicle will help maximize a CAIs potential but more so make a much bigger difference on it's own. For the Pentastar, I would look at Livernois for tuning.
