exactly. Im not an intentional rock crawler. Im a guy who needs a pick up most of the year and like to go from A->B with my kids camping and exploring.

a mid size pick up is perfect for this market, and IMO the Gladiator is leaps and bounds better than Taco/Ranger/Colorado.

I am referring to the lower section of the bed between the rear fender and the rear bumper: Rubicon has rock rails there; Mojave has those plastic covers.

Pretty sure you can get the parts and install it yourself.

Dealer lots around here sound similar, with tons of JTs and not many JLs. One lot has mostly diesels, which surprised the hell out of me.

My dad just took delivery of his Mojave. Mostly washboard gravel roads, some moving boats around at the lake, random wood loads, etc. That many miles on rural Minnesota roads alone I think make it ideal around there, even if not quite the desert.

I too think the Mojave might make more sense for more people than a Rubicon for a Gladiator. Opposite for the Wrangler.
