The NSG370 has a higher torque rating than the AX15, right?

370 versus ??? (my guess would be about 300 or 330, given what a 5.9 was putting out, 20 years ago?)
Real world use shows that the AX15 holds up to small block V8s just fine. The NSG370, not so much.

Yeah, this all makes good sense, think about it, Jeep can't seem to find or use quality rocker arms and camshafts in the 3.6 that might give the engine some respectable dependability and longevity.

So, what does Stellantis do as a company? Rather then going back to the suppliers and forcing them to make quality components in the 3.6 and fixing an otherwise decent and powerful engine, they force any perspective Wrangler buyer that really wants a GOOD engine to have to pony up big bucks for the HEMI. (which has the highest profit ratio of any Stellantis product). Putting the perspective buyer in the poor house!!

Well, that decision should keep production costs down, the Mexicans making them can concentrate on doing the same thing over and over without deviation. That should really help some of the assembly issues. And also save some production costs too. Oh Yeah!

So much for being able to order what you want anymore. Stellantis now will tell you what you can have and you must like it. Now your stuck with an over pressurized mouse motor that sounds like a shaken glass container filled with marbles or like a worn out diesel when first started. Lets here it for turbo lag, hot engine bays and surging, and radiator cooling fans that sound like a 747 during the hot summer. Great!

On top of that its only a matter of time before it start drinking coolant. These motors have been out a much shorter time then the pentastar and already have more problems. But we all know why they dumped the pentastar as you can't use that engine for the 4xe. Which would not have been a great loss as the dealers are loaded up with them and can't give them away, haha

As long as some Jeep owners have the mentality that we will be happy just to own a Jeep no matter what crap they stick in it or how bad it is. And then pay more for it then the mortgage on their house.

Stellantis will just keep doing what their doing while the CEO is making tens of millions per year and laughing all the way to the bank!

I can tell you for sure I will never own another Wrangler in its current form. I refuse to pony up for the Hemi, and I don't want the complications and issues of a Hybrid and I am sure not paying 60k+ for at dinky little mouse motor that will be lucky if it lasts 50k without cooking a head gasket sucking down coolant or worse melting down.

All I can say is if you have a Wrangler now that your happy with take super good care if you have a 3.6 listen to it and put a baxter adapter to help save it. Well folks it only gets worse from here out. Yup!

I'm genuinely curious...what is the AX15 rated for? Or do you not want to say because the NSG is actually rated for more torque out of the box and you're throwing some anecdotal bit about an AX15 working better behind a small block. Which small block? Some of them put out like 200 lb-ft, nothing by modern standards.

A few forums indicate 300 ft lb.

2.0T is also $2000 cheaper, so any sales advantage has to take that into account.

I lived with the 2.0T for 3 years (granted as part of the 4xe drivetrain) and I was happy to pay that $2k premium to get back in a V6. I live in the flatlands, and I just wanted uncomplicated and relatively refined versus the 2.0T.
The 2.0 is not $2000 cheaper, you have to get an automatic transmission with the engine and it is $2500. My 3.6 will 6-speed manual is no upcharge for the transmission...

The funny thing is they got rid of the manual option on the Gladiator. So you can't get a V6 auto on the JL for '25, but that's the ONLY engine/trans available on the JT for '25. Go figure.

Fun ones!
Ditto. Except when it's hot outside and I have to drive up I-70. If it's over 90 degrees, I'm overheating to 260 degrees and forced to hit the right lane at 55mph. Stealership said, "everything is fine". I'm certain it's heat soak, this little turbo motor runs hot.

Oh well.
I knew there was a catch with the 2.0! I knew it was too good to be true. I've been on this forum so much I was thinking the 2.0 was as fast as the new ZR1. I need to test drive one of these unicorn 2.0's. Could potentially save me a lot of coin.

“Some”. This lifelong Jeeper went ~ 30 years after selling my Corv-illys 63 with only Dad’s 3A because Jeep’s drivetrains were unacceptable. The last 16 with a 4R because a V8 was offered. Yes, I did pony up for a V8, uhh- a new loaded Rubi X is damn near as much.
It is my last, as it is the last and only V8.
Jeep has lost a sale or 4 just from me.
(AMC V8 with the same HP as the Buick V6 not included, my Chevy had over 200 more HP)

Lol yeah that'll happen every time. The kids on this forum hear the word turbo and get all worked up.

I don't know because I don't care. Some number in a book doesn't have any impact on the real world.

My new loaded RubiX with v6 was $63.5k when I picked it up last August.

A far cry from the 392. Trust me, I wanted the 392. But the $30-40k difference simply was and is not worth it.
