More like a scar from hand-to-hand combat with a bear. Wear it with pride...for those that survive.I disagree. It's like walking around with a chipped front tooth. Fix the damn thing.![]()

What
what 40s are you running? are those stock gears? would love to hear what line caused the carnage![]()
And that was a Dana UD 44, right? They are 40" Nitto Trail Grapplers.
The gearing is 5.38's.
As soon as I put it into 4 low, I heard a "click". So the damage was probably from KOH.
I thought the "click" was a u-joint.
I did Kane Creek, on the climb up Hamburger Hill , we had 17 rigs, I was one of five to make it up, not winching.
I am not a lead foot and would take the winch no problem.
No "hopping", or anything that would abuse the JL.
I knew 40's were too much for that axle!

Unrelated question, but is there a reason that you put your responses above what you're quoting? One other person does that here and I always wondered why they felt the need to deviate and make it harder to follow the conversation.Correct UD 44, UD 60 semi float out back.
Once we go down to a 38" tire, I will feel much better.

And that isn't your color as well? If not, what is your color? I need to find a side by side to compare. It / they are good looking.I get a lot of people asking me if thats my color as well, lol.
Mine is actually Tuscadero. When next to each other, mine is much more a *hot pink* where as Snazzberry is more a darker, deeper purple-y color. And that isn't your color as well? If not, what is your color? I need to find a side by side to compare. It / they are good looking.
Great thread! My JL has the markings from 2 trips and it will have a 3rd in October. My Gladiator will get tattoos then, too.We got home the day before yesterday, so today was the first day we took the time to really look at the jeeps, and to do some maintenance. I hit 10k miles on this trip, so @Rotsam wanted to change my oil and rotate my tires. NBD, and watching him putter around the garage is fun (my husband is a tech bro, him puttering around the garage is a fairly new concept for him/me).

We cleaned up the interior of mine the other day because it was just plain filth, so I didn’t have to mess with that today. Checking out my rig though, we found a few bumps and bruises. There is super minor scratching/pin striping from Kane Creek Canyon. I’m sure we could buff them out or something, but I’m not bothered by it.
I sheared off one of the bolts on my steps/rails/whatever those are called, and scratched the crap out of them as well. I 100% claim my own user error for sure. Sorry, honey!

Jason says that’s no problem tho, and will be a problem for Beau at Jeep Master’s to handle, lol. We also noticed that I smashed in my tailpipe someplace, and I’m pretty sad about that because I had it put in like 5 days before we left for Moab, lol!

I decided to fuck off and go clean out the inside of his jeep while he was messing with mine, and the minute I opened his door I had deep seated regrets about the choices I’d made up until this point.

I finished cleaning the filth bomb (omg…as I’m writing this I realized i did not even open the trunk part of the jeep…so that’s just as dirty as it was in the beginning) and went ahead and snapped some pics of the damage of Jason’s rig, and somehow he sheared off the *exact* same bolt on the same side on his stairs/whatever those are called

He also banged up his stinger— he’s got some crimp situation going on so we’ll just replace it.

What about you guys? Any of you come home with bumps and bruises on your rigs?
I had so much fun, despite being terrified, lol. We are considering going back here pretty shortly as well, I think it may happen before summer tbh.Great thread! My JL has the markings from 2 trips and it will have a 3rd in October. My Gladiator will get tattoos then, too.
The JL got some scars from the Kentucky Adventure Trail and Jericho Mountain in NH where I got stuck in a boulder field for about 3 hours requiring two winches and a Hi-Lift to extract it, LOL.
Great pics! Looks like you had a blast!
After 25 years of rock crawling, river running, sand surfing and mountain climbing in Jeeps, I have found that minor bruises, scrtatches, scrapes and dents are simply a rite of passage Why would you want to take a brand new, first time out of the box looking Jeep out on the trails? It's downright embarrassing! Don't worry about minor "body damage". You've earned bragging rights!!!!We got home the day before yesterday, so today was the first day we took the time to really look at the jeeps, and to do some maintenance. Ouch!!! I really hate pulling the diff cover and seeing a ring gear looking like this. It kinda explains why the rear lockers stopped working.Does this count?
LOL
A Dana 44 on 40's....
We will be going down to a smaller tire size.
We also used this Jeep out at KOH to set anchor/recovery points on the course and a bit of pre-running the new canyon trails.
