It's included.

Edit: Trust me, if you add all of the features/options of a Moab to a Rubicon the Rubicon will be more. I have ran the numbers several times.
I wasn't adding all the features, just those that i ordered my Rubicon with. The price difference i think was mainly the body-color top.

I got a highly optioned Sahara before the Moab was out. I would have paid extra for better tires (and did with Rubi wheels/tires right away) and the hood. Unfortunately the body colored top and leather seats would be a no go for me.
Yea, i don't like body-color top either so that alone was a deal breaker for me and go with the Rubicon. Leather i went back and forth on, but the wife said she wanted leather, so the rest is history.

RE, the body colored top. I was thinking I would plastidip the removable rear window frames for that non matching look. Cheap, reversable solution.

But Your post I was replying to was about the money. Nobody here in their right mind would argue that a Rubicon is not the best for an offroad rig, but you specifically brought up a monetary comparison rather than the underlying mechanical differences.
You're missing the point, my post was not about money. I was specifically referring to how it falls in line with the base price hierarchy for each trim model. I.e. Sport/Sahara/Rubicon/Moab

I was comparing it to Charger/Challenger. Where you basically get SXT/RT/Scat Pak/Hellcat. And how it would be awkward if the base price of a Hellcat was cheaper than Scat Pak, despite having more performance. SXT/RT/Hellcat/Scat Pak would make no sense.

Wrangler is known as an off-road machine, the top trim level should have the best performance. The top trim is always the "flagship" of the model that sets the image for the rest. Rubicon has the best off-road capability, but it's positioned below Moab. It doesn't make sense.

Must have missed those posts... the ones on mall crawling were made by Sport owners (of whom I hold in utmost respect ;) Poking fun at MOAB's is pretty common place but it's (mostly) in good fun. Granted there are a few with Rubicon blinders on but (like you said) ignore them.

I for one like the MOAB package and had it NOT been more expensive than my Rubi I might have gone that way... although lockers and the electronic sway bar disconnect were high on my list of priorities.

For a majority of owners you buy what you like... not what you need (since EVERY Jeep can do more than what most ask of them). If MOAB checks your boxes then that's the best for you.
Eric, that's right where I'm at in my short time owning a Jeep. My Sahara Mall Crawler "High Curb Edition" is much more capable than I am at this point. However, slowly but surely I hope to change that. Mind you I'll never be anywhere close to a "rock crawler", but one of these days I would like to get proficient on a high end moderate trail. Heck, I might even try a "difficult" trail one day.

Fortunately we live about an hour from the Uwharrie National Forest. It has all types of trails from beginner's to the best out there. I have already plotted our first course.

Some folk are into finding the biggest rock to climb over with their Jeep. We use ours to find the roads (trails) less taken. Sometimes those roads are washed out or rutted and I'm glad to know the Jeep can handle it. I'll never crawl for the sake of crawling, but you never know what you'll find in your way.

Enjoy your High Curb Edition ;) And let her loose on the trails and I'm sure you'll be impressed!

You should follow the NC Roll Call thread.

We regularly plan trips to Uwharrie and there are some great experienced guys who are very willing to take us less experienced guys out on the trails. And several of us have Sports and Saharas. I got my badge at Dickey Bell in my stock Sport S. You don't need a Rubicon to run these trails and you don't need mods to run most of them either.

Thanks Eric, we certainly will enjoy this new toy. We are heading out from North Carolina for our annual road trip in August. Up to Grand Forks, ND onto Montana, then back across to Nebraska and down to Oklahoma heading back west again to New Mexico. The Jeep is going on this trip, and I have already been noting some great back roads, and dusty trails to take. I think the wife is a excited as I am about this trip.

Thanks for the tip sir. I will definitely check this out. I'll need all the help I can get. :)

Your thoughts mirror mine - I've watched a ridiculous amount of videos of Wranglers (mostly Rubicons) at places like the Rubicon Trail and Moab (yes I'm referencing those places purposely ;)), and it's usually people going out of their way to drive over stuff just to prove that they can. I think to myself "um, there's a trail that goes around that boulder...". Not offending anyone that wants to do that, just not my thing (not yet anyway).

You know, some of these trails are not as easy as you think. Doing Rubicon Trail with a stock Moab, even with all the bypasses, is definitely a challenge. I did it many times, mostly with modified JK or JKU Rubicon on 35" and I am not sure if I could do it with a stock Moab without lockers. Probably, a very experienced driver, who knows the trail really well, could do it in a few days and with moving a lot of stones. And I worry, that it would not be without a damage on the Jeep.

Moab gas mileage, between 16 and 17, mixed driving including some trails. I had hoped to get more, but maybe as I get more miles on it, or when these mud tires wear out and I get KO2's...

It’s the 2nd (behind rubicon) most capable stock vehicle currently made, and probably the 3rd (behind h1 hummer) ever made.. I wheel my Sahara jk all the time and never seen a trail it couldn’t handle.. would I drive to it up a rocky boulder step, no!! But you almost never need to do that on a trail unless you want too.. if you take the time to learn how to drive off-road.. go out with a local club and watch some videos and you will be fine if you plan to stay on intermediate or less trails.. which covers most trails.. you can add a quick disconnect for a few hundred dollars and be within 95% of rubicon capabilities
