Many moons ago I stayed there, woke up to -43 on my dash. Back then I used to live in Fargo, so it was just another winter Tuesday during the arctic blast.we occasionally wear coats in Montana..days like this usually..

I would probably add a booster seat so you could see over the dash.Do y’all see anything glaring that I’m missing/forgetting?

Man that’s awesome! We did the trip last year from the Shenandoah Valley, here are some pictures of our rig loaded, we did a lot of off-grid camping so I had a little bit of everything.

I actually picked up the Colby Permanent Valve Stem replacements when I read what happened to you - they’ve got a spot in my toolkit forever now.The thing I needed this year in Moab was a tire valve stem core replacement kit. Not having one delayed us 1.5 hours on what was to be our longest day on the trail. I was able to pick one up in town in the morning but if I had one already in the Jeep we probably would not have been airing up in the dark.
from what I’ve heard absolutely not…you can go from mild to wild depending on what you are looking for. I do have rubicon rock sliders and front and rear diff skids but besides that just the stock JL skids.Slightly off topic, but are skid plates a requirement for Moab?![]()
common man that joke was already made! Making fun of us short guys lolI would suggest bringing a stack of phone books, you can't even see over the steering wheel!
They're not really a requirement for anywhere.... Just depends on your tolerance for damage. I use them because I don't want to have a panic attack whenever I hear metal scraping sounds underneath my Jeep.Slightly off topic, but are skid plates a requirement for Moab?![]()
You didn’t list jacks and bases. Are you the mechanic for the other vehicles? You have emergency comms like InReach or sat capable cell phone?Well I’m a day late and a dollar short…since EJS is over and I’m heading to Moab now lol
But I am going and I’m heading to Moab in 4 days!!!!!
I wanted to get some possible insights.
I’m bringing:
Spare tire
Air compressor
Tools (all ratchets and box wrenches, impact gun, torque wrench, allens, tire socket, gloves, zip ties)
Cv joint for transfer case to driveshaft (because I have it so why not)
Front driveshaft (again because I have it so why not)
Radios
Recovery gear
Off line maps
Extra qt of oil
Extra air filter (to swap for the drive home)
Jscan is in working order
Tie down straps for all the gear
What I’ve done:
Changed hard top to soft top
Put on a sun shade
Changed oil and filter (it’s a 2000+ mile trip one way)
Checked undercarriage (shock bolts, control arm bolts ect)
Fixed a small leak (more like a weep) from the VVL
Rig seems to be running well and all good. I’m not gonna lie…I’m more nervous about driving out and back then wheeling lol. I wanted to make sure the rig can handle the whole trip.
Do y’all see anything glaring that I’m missing/forgetting?
Also will get sunscreen and lots of waters.
