I would like to paint my metalcloak cast iron diff cover. What type of paint should I use? I do not want to powder coat it.

I just used a good quality self etching primer then a couple of coats of hi-temp paint and never had any issues. It's also easy to touch up when you bang it on rocks.

Thanks.
Do you have the front or rear cover? I noticed on their website it says the front cover will not work with the factory trackbar.

Yup used over the counter black and actually ordered the paint match mopar spray paint. It’s really thin, a lacquer I believe, so multiple thin coats. I’ve got the front to match as well.

Mine was a Poison Spyder cover but the process is the same for both. It's pretty straight forward, just take your time and do it right.

like the red!

Looks like you retained the stock track bar?
It looks like to me that's the MC track bar not the stock track bar. Although you can just barely see it just above the MC stabilizer.

Thank you! coming from a Tacoma, the solid front axle is part of my new learning curve.

Definitely a MC track bar, part of the lift kit. Since this pic, I have added the MC drag link and tie rod. All blingy under there...but solid...and it flexes like nobody's business.

FYI it seems MC changed the skid setup with their front diff cover recently

For the metalcloaxk front diff cover did you reuse the gasket? Or scrape and apply new?
I reused the stock one. It's like a lubelocker gasket in that It's reusable.

They did, it offers more protection for the pinion side of the diff. It should bolt to the cover the same.
