Driven several manuals in Europe with stop/start. Works fine. As stated above, when you come to a stop and remove foot from clutch, engine stops. As soon as the clutch is semi-depressed, or even just touched lightly, engine starts. Even on a BMW 116d, it was rather smooth.

My BMW 6MT has auto stop/start. I don't really notice it anymore. There's a slight shudder as the car restarts when you put the clutch in, but that's all.
It's defeatable if you don't like it, hopefully the same on the Jeep.

I have it on my 335i. I find it annoying and turn it off everyone I get in the car. You can do the same in the JL.
