Manual to automatic transmission?

Hi! I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. I'd like to know if it's feasible to convert it from manual to automatic? Would I need to replace the 4×4 transmission as well?
If you don't mind explaining the whole conversion process.

That would be a TJ (I originally said JK, high school all blends together), not a JL. On the JL’s there is a different interface to the transfer case. I’m not sure how simple it is to change out. Generally this sounds like a lot of work with a lot of pitfalls like controllers, flashing the computer, etc. Highly doubt it would be worth the time.

It can be done on a TJ but honestly you are going to come out ahead by selling what you got and getting an auto.

You would need the transmission and ECM for an auto. Cooling lines and all the hardware. There are some adapter kits as well for the conversion. Everything has to be specific to your year and engine as well.

Looks like they are from Qatar too, so that probably plays into what is available vs changing what they have.

(I've only been to Qatar once, and just a long layover at Doha Airport, but it was nice!)

Back in the days of my TJ (2004), this topic came up a lot. The consensus was to sell the original vehicle and buy what you want. It wasn't necessarily an easy process to switch over.

That conversion would be pretty straight forward in southern California, with the availability of parts. But in Qatar, it might be a lot of trouble and waiting for small parts you forgot about or didn't realize you needed.

And the motor turned out to be a '73
And we tried to put in the bolts, all the holes were gone
So we drilled it out so that it would fit
And with a little bit of help from an adapter kit
