I had the dreaded dead aux battery over the weekend and decided to delete the aux battery after replacing the main battery Sunday afternoon. I put the new battery on the charger overnight however this morning the Jeep started fine but now my voltage is only showing 12.6 on the instrument cluster. Is that normal after a delete? In the past I’ve had 14.1 or 14.2 V

The 14+v was your alternator always trying to charge the batteries. Now that you have a new battery that is taking the charge, the alternator isn't working all the time.

Not just normal, it's what you were trying to achieve.

I disagree, I think 12.6 volts is too low. I've never seen the alternator set that low when running. It's easy enough to diagnose, just keep monitoring the voltage. If it continues to drop you have a problem. On the other hand, if the voltage increases, then your Jeep is doing just fine.

Well after an 8+ hour drive the voltage never went above 12.7 except for when letting off the accelerator and then would go back down to 12.7 at idle. Other owners I talked to said they experienced the same results. I know some IBS settings can be changed in JSCAN. But I haven’t messed with them. Like I said earlier since day one of ownership the voltage has always been 14.1. Only until I deleted the aux battery have I seen the 12.7.i am going to try and hook up my aux battery and look at the voltage. However I am traveling for work and really don’t have the support where I am toget stuck!

If you took a long drive and your battery never came up to a good voltage, then your main battery is very likely to be weak and should be replaced.

How did you know you had a dead aux battery?

I had the same experience after replacing my battery. As Rueben said, this is normal.
