  1. Low Voltage

12.6v is fine, its called smart alternator charging
  2. Battery and Charging System Help and Understanding

You can't use voltage to judge the health of the batteries. Smart alternator charging varies the voltage. Example on my 4xe (it uses a DC/DC charger to charge the 12v battery but with the same algorithm as smart alternator charging
  3. Adding a lithium Battery to an ESS equipped vehicle without a DC/DC Charger

Even though this is not on a Wrangler JL the ESS system is still the same. I'm not an electronics expert but I like to play around with things, and try out 12v things other may not have tried yet. Nearly 2 years ago I purchased an automotive grade Lifepo4e battery and was going to use it in...
  4. So how fast is a JL anyway?

My 4xe's were fast.......faster than any other wrangler except a 392 13.8@97mph for the Sahara 14.46@93mph for my rubicon
  5. Difference between 2H and 4H AUTO on dry roads?

This clears up exactly how the system works. https://www.4xeforums.com/threads/mp3022-transfer-case-operation-and-monitoring-with-j-scan.2602/#post-31415 For 4xe owners, this is why 2H is much slower https://www.4xeforums.com/threads/4xes-limit-boost-in-2h-mode-vs-4-high-auto.3208/#post-40270
  6. My Testing of the IBS/IBM System

Bumping an older thread because i've been monitoring the IBS for years in different vehicles. 4xe, yes it doesn't have an alternator but does smart alternator charging like other Jeep vehicles..... 3.6 ESS system in a grand cherokee...
  7. Jumperless Aux Battery Bypass

I have quite a bit of experience with Lithium batteries so I can explain why it would and wouldn't work. If you are wanting to have a lithium ESS battery in place of the stock AGM and have it connected to the main battery it won't work well at all. Lithium batteries rest at a higher voltage...
  8. Jumperless Aux Battery Bypass

Absolutely fantastic write up on the ESS stuff @Jebiruph I've been following this with intrigue and while I had a Wrangler (well 2 4xes) I"ve never owned a ESS dual battery equipped vehicle. I do now however have a 23 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the dual battery ESS system. The whole premise...
  9. JL 2.0L Turbo ECU Tune Development by Eurocompulsion

I"ve got the SGW module installed
  10. 2.0 4cyl. OR. V6 with eTorque in a JLUR?

Or the 4xe, more hp more tq than the diesel, and way faster, oh and if you aren't doing long trips much better fuel economy,
  11. JL 2.0L Turbo ECU Tune Development by Eurocompulsion

I can do that......I also had a 2022 4xe as well, however since HP Tuners supports GPEC4 (and I use HP Tuners) neither of them would read or identify the PCM/TCM in either vehicle.
  12. JL 2.0L Turbo ECU Tune Development by Eurocompulsion

    That's correct 2021 4xe with the 2.0t GPEC5,

Thanks for the reply......so then your piggy back would be this then? https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/booster-ecu-by-vaitrix-jl-2-0l-official-thread.44804/?fbclid=IwAR3argfbfMdHwEdNd6UnTP0kS5RNc6VKah3MUKD2idYwvv3xIe3lFgKYag0
  14. JL 2.0L Turbo ECU Tune Development by Eurocompulsion

I'd like to know how this piggyback get around PCM/TCM torque management, especially on a GPEC5 vehicle Since the PCM's are locked and values above stock cause the PCM/TCM torque management to kick in, how dos something like this help. How do you get around the vehicle pulling the throttle...
  15. Power house with inverter?

You can power a lot with the onboard charger https://www.4xeforums.com/threads/testing-the-limits-of-the-2500w-onboard-dc-dc-charger.3400/#post-44524
  16. 4xe 0-60 mph real world measured figures

2022 Rubicon 4xe [email protected] 2021 Sahara Ha 4xe 13.80@97mph Don't know what the 0-60 times are but likely low to flat 0-60
  17. 4xe System in Cold Weather -- Operation and Detailed Analysis

The main reason for drop in range is the ECH electric coolant heater warming the coolant loop for HVAC and battery, it varies from 0-7kw of power draw and is active even at temperatures above freezing. Watch the climate part of the hybrid screen while driving and that will show you how much...
  18. 4xe Ambient Temperature Averaging & How It Affects Operation In Cold Weather

There has been lots of talk and debate about what temperature the 4xe will no longer operate in electric mode. The general consensus and through testing is that -12c or 10f is the threshold for the vehicle to operate in electric mode from an Ambient temperature threshold (providing other...
  19. 4xe System in Cold Weather -- Operation and Detailed Analysis

45-50kms was my max range in the summer. In the very cold weather (-20c) with this method of tricking it in to staying in electric, i get 22-25kms electric range. It's only a 17KW battery pack so a lot of range isn't expected but a 50% drop is what i'm saying. Easy to explain. The electric...
  20. 4xe System in Cold Weather -- Operation and Detailed Analysis

I don't need mechanical sympathy, again the vehicle will start the ICE up when it needs to and there is nothing you can do to stop that. This was about temperature and how the 4xe operates.
