I will be posting the solution in that other "banned wrangler forum", as soon as I return to home base and have access to a larger screen with proper keyboard, so keep an eye for it there ?.
Can you PM me a link to that fix if it was ever posted.

Same problem, 2020 Jeep JLU 3.6. Engine rattle at low RPMs usually between 1,000 and 2,000. Only have 15,000 mi and most of everyone always says check for loose bolts, manifold leaks, etc. but none of that seems to work. Has anybody at all tried octane boost. I've tried higher octane fuel but really don't notice a difference. I'm more interested in hearing any resolutions to this engine knock problem. If you know you know. It's not rocks or anything else it's coming from the engine 100%. Please add all comments below. Thank you.

My 2018 PCV allowed excess oil carryover to the combustion chambers resulting in carbon buildup. The change in combustion area with the increased compression in the PUG upgrade created detonation / pre ignition knock.

The new PCV is shown in the attached TSB. The TSB is extensive, it involves pulling the heads, I also hear some are using a BG 44 treatment, some using a heavier weight oil and so on.

My knock was at ~70 F in low 3rd gear.

In addition to that change of the PCV valve, the following information might be helpful. The Valvoline Restore & Protect is also API-SP rated for LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition) protection. Regardless of what else is done, I wouldn't bother running any oil that isn't API-SP rated.

So apparently API-SQ is coming out this spring and the reason is to address LSPI. I guess some oils that pass when new aren't passing after so many miles so the reason for SQ was to ensure that oils that only pass when new will no longer pass to carry the latest certification. Good stuff.
