I'm getting a bit confused with many people on here, including utube Wrangler reviewers like TFL, etc, reporting that the 3.6 Pentastar is rock solid unit, and very common to hear of owners observing 100k..200k...300000, without opening them up,,,,and then those who say rocker arms and lifters being a "very common failure".

You cannot have both scenarios, as they contradict one an other.

My question is not a loaded one. I'm sincerly getting confused now lol.

Which one is it?:movember:
My 2020 rubicon has 52k miles on it. In the shop for the second time for valve train issues…you know the dreaded tick. This time all 4 cams, 24 rockers and 24 lifters are being replaced. Thank god it’s still under warranty

Shit, they should have replaced the entire motor
Damn right. needless to say I’m not pleased with the 3.6. I know there are the 3.6 lovers and the 3.6 haters. I’ve done a lot of research and the majority of the valve train issues point to rocker design. jeeps been in the shop for a while, been waiting on parts…..that’s another issue. Should get it back in a week or two.

Have you, by chance, ever seen the lifters and rocker arms on a pentastar engine? They’re tiny. Very common failure.
The lifters are different than on an OHV engine though. They are not 100% loaded by the cam as say on the Hemi. I've always called them lash adjusters. The rocker arm divides its cam load on 2 surfaces, the lash adjuster and the valve. The pin and bearings that supports the rocker roller sees the most load. On the Hemi the pin's needle bearings that supports the lifter roller are what fail causing the roller to seize and dig in to the cam. I'm not sure if the Pentastar has the same problem.
