I am new to the group. I am hoping someone has photos of their front quarter panels removed from their JLU, newer the better as mine is a 2022 JLU. I have RSE side steps. Do I have to remove the fenders to remove the quarter panels or will they come off when I remove the quarter panels? Do I have to remove the RSE steps? I need or want to know what’s under the panels so I know if removing the quarter panels will help me in my project. I’m not very experienced and don’t want to tear apart something I can’t put back together. Thanks in advance.

Details regarding your project may be helpful as well. Others may have performed the same upgrade and can share their experiences. Just a thought.

Thanks. It’s hard to describe. But I will try to put something together. I really am looking for pictures so I do t tear apart my daily driver and not being able to put it back together when pictures would show me if taking apart my front end would be worth it.

I assume you mean front fenders?

In automotive design, the fender typically refers to the front panel that covers the wheel and the quarter panel is the rear panel that covers the wheel that also includes the roof pillar.

Yep, I agree. I figured wranglers have front quarters and fenders. There are lots of YT vids about removing the fenders. I need to remove what's behind the fenders. So, whatever that is called. If it's still fenders, than that's what I am looking for. Thank you for clarifying.

They are called inner fender liners. This video should give you a general idea of how to remove them at about 2:32.

Quickest way to get good answers is take a pic and say what your end goal is. Edit: I see @jludave beat me to it.

Thank you for linking those videos. I have seen those. Removing the fender does not do me any good. I would like to se pics of what's under the side panel closer to the a-pillar (see green arrows). I do not know if I have to remove the fender first or can I just take off the entire panel and fender. Also, looking for those type of pics as my jeep is my daily driver and I don't want to tear it apart if someone else has already done so and taken pics. That way I hope to find out if it'll be worth it for me to take the front apart. Thanks again.

What are you trying to accomplish? Installing something? Modifying something? Repairing body damage? This will help if you don’t want people to just guess.

You can easily remove the inner fender liner and look up in there. If that doesn't get what you want/need, you may need to unbolt and remove the actual fender.

I think this video shows what's up under the fender areas you point to at the 6:00 mark:
