My 2018 JLU Sahara's 2.0 engine is bad. Pulled #2 cylinder plug and found the end of it damaged. I checked cylinder with a borescope and found top of the piston gone! Looking for a replacement engine. Any recommendations?

Americas Most Wanted sells take out engines when they do the conversion to V8. They offered me $3000 for my engine transmission and transfer case with 14000 miles and in perfect oil change record.

any change the engine could be cross referenced to another vehicle? Using only the lower half.

How many miles on that engine? Just curious...

139,000 miles. Daily driver, 100 miles per day back and forth to work.
Wow. I wouldn't even call that a lot of miles. I'm really curious what caused the failure. That's worrisome

For a daily driver, a brand new long block with a warranty makes more sense than a full V8 swap. I recently replaced an engine in a similar situation and found a good deal on a long motor at enginezone.com.au, which saved me a lot of hassle. Just make sure you confirm the VIN for fitment before ordering anything.

Sounds like a super knock event.
LSPI, probably bent the con rod also.

A new crate engine from Mopar is $6500- the same price as the reman. Easy enough to just drop in a new engine.
Last time I checked, and correct me if I'll wrong, I think they come with a new turbocharger too.

Agreed. You really need to watch what fuel and oil you run in a 2.0t.

The oil must be SP rated to prevent Low Speed Preignition (LSPI) in direct injected engines.
