what is this affiliate code thing?
FCA Affiliate program. Some employers are affiliates or you can join Tread Lightly at the $100 membership level and also qualify (must be a member for at least 30 days before pickup/purchase). This gets you at least 1% below invoice pricing at participating dealers in addition to any other dealer discounts and manufacturer incentives.

Thanks!

So, does 1% below invoice equate to 8$ off MSRP?

8% below MSRP is between 3-4% below invoice (at least based on how I have my build configured).

It's pretty close.

It really varies depending on options and trim level, but from my prior quotes from a couple local dealers it equated to just below 7% off MSRP. Just keep in mind that this particular deal here is taking that 1% off of MSRP not invoice.

Just noticed that this new deal was revised and is now requiring financing and affiliate to get that 8% off MSRP and 5% off otherwise (the latter actually might be worse than the 1% under invoice you'd get at many dealers, again depending on trim/options). Not sure why that was changed, but still a solid deal if you're financing.

Correct with 2023 pricing there just isn't as much room as once was.

The powers above me made the change again with 23MY prices doing 10% killed us and I know most of you dont think we tell the truth but it was honestly losing $3,000 to sell these vehicles thats after hold back and everything. So they just do not want it to hurt so much

Yeah, once you start cutting your margins too much you're forced to make up the difference by moving a higher volume. There's a fine line between increasing sales by lowering prices and doing twice as much work for the same profit. Guess it's a bit of a balancing act.

Wow! If losing that much would it make sense to pay the 10% people money to walk away?

Jeep already has a history of going after dealers that place orders for themselves using customer/employee names.

Honestly have no idea what their true profits are, but I'm not aware of any business that's willing to lose money let alone break-even. Unless it's considered a loss for good advertising and positive word of mouth, I'm thinking maybe he meant they were losing $3,000 that they didn't necessarily need to discount in order to remain competitive with other dealers in the region at a given point in time. Most dealers anywhere will go 1% under invoice w/affiliate, and high-volume dealers have been doing 5 to 6% under invoice almost all the time. Some money is made on hold-backs and financing, but a business won't stay in business very long if they're losing money instead of generating the profit needed to pay for salaries, rent, utilities, replenishing stock, etc.

Another thing to consider, is that Jeep is probably far likely to fulfill dealer orders for restocking their lots if they suddenly have a few hundred active custom orders to be shipped along with them. And at least around here, most dealers are still asking full MSRP for in-stock units, which would generate much larger profits.

Could you shed some light on the rumors you guys need to run credit checks when placing orders?
Is that true?
This is not true or at least it wasn't when I placed my order with Mitch back in July. I DID have to fill out the credit authorization form for a credit pull but I can confirm that, true to Mitch's word, they did NOT run my credit report (I have not been notified of any hard inquiries).

Wife is really enjoying the reign 4xe leased through Mitch. The process was a tad awkward when it came to FI. The guy expected us to be on a PC when we called to review the paperwork. What's that, lol? He also got the tax rate wrong, which we knew, but CCAP corrected it automatically. We arranged our own shopping, no problem.
