Long Term Reliablity?

Since I’m new to the Jeep brand, I’m curious about long-term reliability of their products. As with any automotive forum, we tend to focus on problems and upgrades. To flip the table, I’d love to hear success stories from long term Wrangler owners – JKs that ran 180K miles with no problems, YJs that are still used for daily commutes, etc..

I have a 2002 TJ I bought new. 230K miles later, I've rebuilt the transmission (manual transmission) @ 190k, T Case @ 225k , and brake lines @ 210k. beyond that, its regular maintenance. I'm selling it because I order a new 2019 JLUR, but if it doesn't sell for the price I want I'm keeping it with the wife's permission.

corrosion, corrosion, corrosion. mine kept corroding (all doors) even after being repainted. good luck

Every vehicle can have issues. Even my Toyota’s had issues. Luck of the draw, sometimes. Over the years, doing two things have kept my cars going long and strong.
Don’t skimp on maintenance and pray to the car gods.

Since this is a 4-year old thread, I was curious to see how this turned out. And for that, I asked my

Our 2010 JK has over 250K miles on it. It is still my son's daily driver. We have replaced the alternator and radiator and upgraded the suspension to run 37" tires, but other than that, the powertrain is stock and still runs strong, not burning or leaking a drop of oil. Oh, and it does require a bath now and then.

All these JK examples LOL. We're on a JL forum guys. JKs mean less than nothing when it comes to the subject of this thread.
