I sent pics of the box and everything from my security camera, from before I opened it...... the box was heavy, I was surprised no damage dented corners nothing.
I'm not a fan of LOD for customer service as well. I have the signature sliders and have never been able to place the plates on it. The threads for the screws did not align and were painted over. I called LOD and it took several trys to get an answer. In the end they sent me a tap and new screws. I just never installed them. One of the mounting holes was also misaligned and needed to be enlarged to fit. The finish is pretty good though, although I have seen some surface rust (CO and AZ) which is odd. I also had Factory Damage on the finish, but it was underneath. The box was delivered without any damage.
Personally I had the ACE on my JK and should have done the same with my JL. They have great customer service. I'm buying some for my Dads JT today. ACE actually has a true "sale" not this 10% BS

I'm the opposite. Bought the Ace sliders and wish I'd gone with LOD. My Ace sliders look like they were welded but a 5-year-old. Cuts are ragged and just poor overall build quality as well as terrible packaging. I also had damage that was obviously done before shipping and had to touch them up myself. My LOD bumpers are well built and I've had great interaction with their customer service.

I just purchased the Roam sliders. LOD or Roam? Roam or LOD?. I studied and restudied both. I think that I like the way that the Roam rails mount better than the LOD ones. And LOD “recommends” (but doesn’t “require” a couple of holes be drilled. I didn’t want to do that.......

the folks at Roam tell me that my order will ship TODAY. I ordered only this morning. WOW, that’s fast!

Ordered Roam frame mounted sliders yesterday morning. They shipped yesterday afternoon. They are local to me (I didn’t realize just how local or I would have asked to pick them up). Anyway, they arrived TODAY in Pristine condition. They will hopefully go on tomorrow if I can borrow my brother-in-laws garage...!!!!!!

I'm surprised by a response like that since most carriers have insurance and any mail damage should be covered. Also if you told them the box was mint to stick to that story. I thought LOD was supposed to have the superior customer service to roam.
I'm not sure what people expect on lite cosmetic blemishes, etc. Consider the cost to ship the product back and then there’s the cost to ship the replacement product back to the customer. No company can stay in business paying those kinds of costs.

I’m not saying the poster had minor cosmetic blemishes - just making a case for why companies can’t afford to accept the cost of a return shipment as well as eating the cost of shipping the product back out on cosmetic blemishes for heavy products and crates like these.

I can understand your perspective. What frustrated me was this left their site like that. The packaging was all still in excellent condition, and their foam inside was excellent. More of a quality control issue.

Maybe they didn’t see it; maybe they did. Maybe it happened during crating and it wasn’t / was seen by the person doing it. It shouldn’t happen because consumers expect perfection and often complain if they don’t get it (not pointing a finger at anyone in this thread).

Uh...you’re right. I would expect it unblemished. It’s their product, they need to learn how to package and ship it correctly or they should be on the hook for remedying the situation.

When you all are referring to "frame mounted", do you mean removing the body mounting bolts? And these are the bolts that are breaking? I mounted sliders on my 2005 LJ using the body mounting bolts and they came out with no problems this was last year on a 14yo Jeep. Am I missing something here? I need sliders with steps for my short wife (ok, actually me), and I always liked the idea of frame mounted. Please advise
