BTW - I'm in SW Michigan and will have my Rubicon take-offs for sale soon. They're all off the vehicle, just need to wash them up and get pictures.

Springs/Shocks
33" Falken ATs and Stock Gladiator (Charcoal color) rims
Rear Bumper
Tie Rod
Mopar Performance Rock Rails

This has been used offroad. There are a few rims with rock rash and the same goes for the rear bumper and rails

I’m mostly pavement driving as well, hoping to get a lot more off-road when I retire next year though.
I went with the Clayton 1.5 Overland Plus kit and Fox 2.0 shocks. It’s fully adjustable so I was able to dial in my axles side to side, front to rear and caster positioning which was all important to me.

Thanks for all the responses everyone!

I asked the shop to purchase this for me

https://teraflex.com/jl-2dr-sport-sahara-2-5-performance-spacer-lift-kit-9550-vss-twin-tube.html

along with the longer teraflex control arms to control the caster. I was jumping between springs vs spacers and ultimately decided spacers since it would give me a predictable 2.5 inch lift. If I ever go 35s once the 33s are used up, I’ll just replace the spacers with the teraflex springs for an extra inch of lift.

i think this set up is the best for me considering geometry is the most important while maintaining a predictable lift. 90%+ my time is on road and this should even give me more lift with the longer travel shocks compared to the 2 door sport shocks

@Swissswiss,

Ibrahim, I may not be a lift 'purist' because I just went with the dealership installed Mopar 2.0" Lift on my 2019 JL 2-door Sport. No adjustable track bars, just the plain Jane Vanilla standard kit. Ended up with a little over 2.5". But after putting on 35's along with a Teraflex Swaybar Quick Disconnect Kit, I couldn't be any happier. Rides great, both on and off-road. I love it.

I know I post this pic a lot, but it shows where I can easily take this thing. This is on the Wheeler's Lake Trail, northwest of Alma Co, just after the V-Notch obstacle. On that day our Jeep Patrol assisted the U.S. Forest Service in putting in several winch points.

Many Jeep's, including non-stock Rubicon's, find this obstacle pretty difficult. The winch points were being installed specifically for that reason.

However, I have never yet had any trouble navigating this obstacle with my Sport on open diffs. The added clearance, all-terrain rubber and the disconnected swaybar certainly makes a big difference in my capability.

No matter which lift you decide, you won't regret it. Getting far off the beaten path is so much worth every penny.

looks great! Actually have this photo saved under my “maybe future jeep plans” folder. If money wasn’t a question this is likely the route I would have taken but the dealership was charging me 3.5k+ installed. Plus tires would push this closer to 6k.

FYI the TF 1.5 for the JL is 1" front and 1.5" rear. I'd consider Bilsteins over the Ranchos personally.
Actually, I think it’s 1.5 rear and 2 in the front to level JLU. They factor in a .5 OEM rake. That’s what the kit details state anyway.

That’s the 4 door.

I have the TF spacer kit for a 4dr (it's 2" front, 1.5" rear) on my 2dr, coupled w/ Rubi springs from a heavy 4dr and Fox 2.0 shocks (0-1.5" lift) running 315/70/17s w/ 2" bumps in front and 1.5" in back.

This is basically what I’m going to do minus the fender flare chops. Thanks for sharing!

Hey ya’ll. I put some 33s on my 2 door 3.6 auto last weekend and will put a lift on a soon. I wanted to get more opinions on which lift to go with. I will have a local shop instal

1. rough country 2.5 suspension lift: I know I know, RC is known to be trash but truth is I am on pavement 90% of the time and only due blue trails 6 times a year. Many run this lift with no issues and I think they get a bad rep due to how cheap it is $ wise and how it compares to other lifts. particularly like this one because it is a true 2.5 lift

2.This teraflex lift and buy some aftermarket shocks, maybe rancho? I like that they are adjustable. I think this would yield me more than 2.5 inches which I don’t like since I want to stick to 33s

3. some other teraflex lift

If you use a 2.5” lift on 33’s, my concern would be that your rig will end up looking like it missed leg day. I use the Teraflex spacer lift and it is perfect for 33’s (which I have). I got an extra .5” spacer for the front for 1.5” all the way around. I like the stock ride so no need to change out shocks or springs. It’s all personal choice so good luck. I hope it ends uo exactly like you envision it.

Why JT and not JL Fox shocks??
I'm not sure about rear travel, but I believe the JT Rubicon has Fox branded shocks compared to the standard "red" JL.

Correct. JT Rubicon shocks are 2.5 Fox shocks. Rear travel is the same. The mounts are a little bit different, but pretty easy to get to work.

The JT Fox shocks are quite a bit softer than the JL Rubicon “reds”. I really like the softer ride, but it will lean more in the corners and dive when braking.

Driver is the most important component of the equation.
