Update on my Jeep ... the technician is not able to replicate the problem in the workshop and they are still exploring. The service advisor feels it may be a ‘characteristic’ of the new JL ... implying that’s how it’s meant to be. What a load of bull ... qualifying a leaking $4000 option as being normal and functional. Clearly Jeep is not prepared for this.

They are still researching the leak and will keep me updated. In the meanwhile I have a loaner Jeep from our local Enterprise car rental ... which is being renewed everyday ... tomorrow will be day 3.

@JeepCares Can you please find out at FCA corporate ... what’s going on with these Powertops ? Clearly the dealerships are clueless. Any help is appreciated.

Like I stated in earlier posts the engineers at Jeep have no solution atm. They are basically throwing solutions out there hoping it fixes the problem.

Latest update from my Jeep service advisor -

“I apologize that this is taking some time, we may need to contact engineering about the seals. This is the first sky slider that we have had an issue with. Due to this being such a new vehicle, we have certain steps that we must take for warranty repairs. I will extend the rental for you”

:-(

Update - Finally received my JLUR after a week in service. See service description below in the snapshots. Apparently there are a couple of Star cases on this matter - S1923000020 and S923000018. Any idea where to find the docs for these two star cases?
As for the fix, all they did was applied pressure on the seals to ensure the butyl sealant is bedded properly - which is what I did earlier for the leak in the driver rear corner. The dealership tested for leaks afterwards by running water from a suspended showered at the leaking spots. They have conformed no more leaking. Now I'm waiting for some heavy rain to test it in the field. Will keep y'all updated.

I hope this solves your problem. Here is what the outside contractor had to replace on mine.

There was some light rain last night ... no leaks. Need some sustained heavy rains to test the fix. Will keep y’all updated.

So...........I hate writing this but I experienced my first water leak on Saturday with my power top. I had water pour in from the drivers side front of the sky power top and then collected on the drivers side visor and then it would pour down on me. I will make an appointment with my Jeep dealer, hopefully they will be able to figure this out but from the sounds of it this still sounds like FCA is still trying to figure out a fix for this issue.

Sounds exactly like my issue. Can you post some pics of the seal from outside - driver side corner ? I am curious to see how bad it is and compare it to mine. Thanks.

I've attached to an earlier post what an outside contractor did to fix mine. I would copy that and take it to your dealer when you drop the Jeep off. Any info you can gather that can help fix the problem right away will save you trips to the dealer. Just my two cents.

Chiming in here because my 2018 is leaking on the passenger side. Drips down onto the visor and then onto the seats/floor. It's going in for a new windshield shortly so I'll be bringing up the leaky top as well.
