OK, I am trying to show some grace based on what has happened over the 18 months in the World but I am quickly losing patience when it comes to production and delivery times for parts. I understand COVID has put a strain on resources and that everything takes longer but I have a problem when a company charges my credit card immediately for an item they know is not made yet even when the lead time on the website states 3-5 weeks. I am on week 3 of a part that wont ship for at least another 2-3 weeks based on the phone conversations I had with a rep, yet my card was charged immediately. Am I over reacting here and is this a common practice to make sure I don't shop elsewhere? I get it - I knew before I paid for the item that I would not see it for 3-5 weeks and that is on me but wouldn't it make more to sense to list the items you are selling as "out of stock" and request a notification when it is back in stock or when you have produced inventory to ship real time. Talk me off the ledge or tell me to go sit in the corner and color...

I understand
Then understand that it’s just the world that we live in RIGHT now. Things will get better. Complaining isn’t going to motivate people to work harder or move faster so that you can get whatever it is that you want quicker or sooner.

If you don’t have the tolerance to wait for something that may potentially take an extended period of time to arrive (which is everything these days), cancel and let someone else do the waiting.

Sure glad I bought my Rubi back in Oct of last year and ordered all the parts right away. Everything was instock at the time. Now is a different story, the stuff I got has lead times of 18 weeks now.

Like I said, I get the lead times- it is the charging me for something now only to be delivered 6 weeks later that urks me.

If you can, pay it off and put it out of your mind. Worst case scenario if it never shows up, you can always cancel and your card will have a credit on it. If you don’t charge that card within six weeks, the issuing bank will cut you a check for that amount.

Jason, life is too short to let stuff like this bring down your morale.

You should see how much money I have tied up in a house generator that won’t be installed for another 3-4 months lol

They most likely did not "charge" your card. Companies with long lead times will put a pending amount against your card monthly to make sure you have the credit to pay when it actually charges. You may notice in your statement after a month the old "charge" drop and a new one show up. It isn't something that would show up as a liability on your statement to pay.

Yep- you're right- I'm Bi@tch'n about a non-essential part for a toy. It puts things in perspective when you think about it that way. Thank Kevin- good points- life is too short.
