Will need some bodywork and a new rail from ACE - but overall I'm pretty impressed with how well she held up. Saturn was probably going 25-30 - Spun me a quarter turn.

I do hope everyone is OK.

The technology that has been forced into new vehicles can be distracting in spite of the move to make vehicles safer. I am concerned that the safety technology is making drivers pay less attention. We need to stress the importance of driver responsibility.

My dad was a professional driver. When he started teaching me to drive he said "Son, always assume everyone around you will do the stupidest thing they can and be prepared to deal with it." That comment has saved me many times over the years of driving and riding my motorcycle.

Agree. I'm very frustrated with myself that I was on my everyday commute and didn't take the 1 second required to glance left and see if someone was approaching too fast. Two other lanes did - I was in the 3rd and furthest lane - and in auto-pilot. Boom.

Saturns were better than the other GM garbage sedans! :)

Think it might be the end of that one though!

Remember the dealers for Saturn it was no negotiating and no BS?

They started off better, then there was no further innovation. This lead GM to turn it into a bastard step child brand, like Geo. That’s when it went to hell. Once the brand included with those thrown into the GM bankruptcy, used values tanked and they became “tax return specials” at 2nd chance used car lots.

I remember when they would have something like a Saturn jamboree at the factory once a year, and a bunch of owners would drive across the country to go. Probably the same type of people who lined up and camped out for Krispy Kreme openings.

Yeah but was not even remotely a hybrid was 1998 and far better than all of your POS hybrids today. Most half ass things like 4xe are just that half assed. Let me know when the tech is worth buying.

It cost 1/4 of any 4xe or EV today using today's money. You will never get that mileage with a 4xe on a road trip. You are caged into driving a couple dozen miles. Take a road trip and you get worse mileage with 4xe than a normal 2.0. Which actually gets decent MPG.
