I'm looking for a pair of rock slides for my Rubicon that are frame mounted (no body bolt removal ideally), can be used as steps if needed, and most importantly, fit tight to the fender and stick out to the ends of the fenders to provide protection for the side of the Jeep. I travel LOTS of gravel fire roads around North Idaho and am tired of the poorly designed Hi-clearance fenders that came with the Jeep deflecting rocks into my doors and chipping the paint.

Thanks,
Jeff

I have LoD frame mounted rails. They work well and I didn’t have to remove any body mount bolts. They are bolt on, but you can increase the strength by drilling a few more mounting points (i think in the back each side and right front, but it’s been awhile so I may be recalling incorrectly). I did not drill the extra holes (yet) and have bashed them pretty hard without issue.

Best of luck

Personally I'd go with the @motorcityaftermarket M1 sliders. What I like about them is they are frame mounted and slotted so you don't have to fully remove the body bolts (fully removing the bolts seems to be a problem for some). I have their rear bumper and VERY pleased with the construction and quality powder coating. The M1 rails are on my "next to buy when fundage is available" list.

I'd also recommend RokBlokz for side/fender protection. They have done an awesome job keeping the side of my Rubi clean and haven't gotten a nick on the rear hinges since installing the flaps. Highly recommended. https://rokblokz.com/collections/jeep-mud-flaps/products/jeep-wrangler-jl-jlu-2018-mud-flaps

I use the Roam Frame-Mounted sliders and they are exactly what you are looking for.

Roam has a bit of a mixed reputation on the forum so buyer beware. But I think everyone who got the frame-mounted sliders is happy with them.

TJ2018, what size did you get? Was hoping the fronts were removable too but these look like they will solve the problem for me.

I got the regular size. Both front and rear flaps are easily removable.
