The info I posted was accurate. You guys just aren't haggling correctly - or the demand has picked up and the dealers I had went to have since changed their tune.

I got 6% below invoice in California - Work harder - Or go to Dillons in Idaho (5% under invoice)
Not fake news. It's just quite difficult to get below EP unless the dealer gets his profit somewhere else.

I strongly disagree. In all honesty, MSRP and Invoice are made up numbers.

Dealers across the country are doing 5% below, advertised. They wouldn't be selling them at that price if they weren't still pulling a profit. It'd make no sense.

I think I beat the rush out here in California. I ordered on 12/28. Seems like once they started showing up at dealers, the prices have risen.

My MSRP is $43,590 (Manual) EP is $39,404 - FPP is $40,929, Invoice is $41,267. Final is a little over $40K + Tax and Lic. No added fees.
I haven't started my research yet but for Socal that seems like a great deal.

Hello All,

Wanted to report that I was able to get 3% below Invoice on JLU Sahara at Stewart Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at Colma CA.

For reference, here is my build:

2019 JLU Sahara
6 Speed Manual Transmission
Billet Silver Metallic Clear-Coat Exterior Paint
LED Lighting Group
Cold Weather Group
Black Freedom Top 3-Piece Hard Top
Hard Top Headliner

MSRP was $43,300 with Invoice $41,221.
Final is $39,984 plus taxes and fees with $2000 deposit.

Order placed on 1/5, have the VON. Now the waiting game begins.

Thanks to all members of the forum. I was able to get the pricing info, the deals at various other dealers and use it as a reference in my communication with various Bay Area dealers.

I was able to get $7200 off my order. It was 12%. No restrictions -- I'd imagine I'll have VON by EOW. It was about $750 below EP.

Wow, how very unusual.

I called Stewart in Colma late in December, asking for the sales manager. He transfered my call to a salesman who was totally clueless and did not listen to a word I said. The salesman tried to claim that the steel bumper was $1700 dollars, and said this more than once. I told him I have the Dec. 9th invoice pricing, he ignored me, and kept telling me about cherokees. Then he tells me the deposit would be $5000, and that I should come on in and sit down with the sales manager, who would tell me the price. This after I told him I know the price, I have the invoice sheets and order codes.

Guy was a total dummy.

Glad you got a deal, but do not think for a second that anyone else has had your experience at Stewart in Colma while trying to place an order.

Peace.

I used the order guide from December, calculated the number I was looking to pay and was upfront with them. Entire discussion was done through email. I stopped by the next day and provided the check for the deposit and had them sign the preview sheet with the numbers we agreed on.

I tried contacting all dealers around the Bay Area, couple of them took time to reply that they couldn't do the deal. A few of them did not bother replying too.

Ok, interesting.

Seems that email is much better than calling, and that you need to include what you want, and tell them what you are willing to pay. That kind of thing will go straight to the sales manager for review.

What I did was call, ask for the sales manager, and then told him I would like to discuss placing an order, he must have thought I was not serious, and so sent me to talk to a flunkie who knew nothing of Wranglers nor pricing.

Calling the Jim Manning dealership in Dinuba worked out ok, spoke with Manuel, who has been professional and straightforward to deal with. I placed my Tread Lightly discount order with them.
