Morning members, Picked up my jl sport s 2 days ago and am very happy with it. My question is I would like to pick up a cheap set of OEM JK wheels as an extra set for my JL #1 will they fit and#2 should I only look at certain years like 2012 to2017? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If I wouldn't have gotten distracted yesterday when I had my JL on my lift I could have answered your question....I have a set of 4 2015 JK 17" wheels and I wanted to try one on the front and one on the rear axle for my own knowledge...Maybe tomorrow...

2007-2018 wheels from a Wrangler will work on the JL Wrangler. The bolt pattern, width, and offset are identical.

However, you will need to use JL specific lug nuts because the lug stud thread and size has changed.

Personally, I wouldn't put JK wheels on a JL. It is a quick way to make your brand new Jeep look dated.

I couldn't wait to put some 2017 JK Rubi wheels on my JL Sahara since the Sahara wheels are not to my liking....I don't think it looks dated at all... I did use my JL lug nuts

You used your stock JL LUG NUTs on the JK(STOCK) wheels, from 14mm nuts to 12 mm stock wheel stud holes--

I suggest you keep alert on any wheel vibration/loose wheel(s) at speed--if no problems--you're lucky-

It's a good idea to switch to (SPLINE) 14mmx1.5 nuts, when using any wheels designed/used on the JK jeeps-

Good luck

Whatever

Discount Tire installed the wheels, surely they would have mentioned if there was an issue.....but haven't noticed any vibrations at all....

Normally, I would agree with this 100%. However, the JL wheels are some of the ugliest wheels we've ever seen on production Jeeps in history. Those Sport S wheels I got looked like something Toyota would use. The black Rubicon wheels with machined lips look like something J.C. Whitney would sell. They're all just terrible.

Im just gonna get a set of gem JK wheels and tires so I have a spare set. You can get them cheap online because everybody switches out their wheels when they get the wrangler.

Wheels are a matter of personal preference - that's why it's a $3.2 billion market (SEMA 2017 report - https://www.sema.org/sema-news/2017/02/wheel-and-tire-market-trends). I've seen white wheels on a white JL and liked it but I would never do it. My persoal preference is to stick with OEM wheels so I am powder coating a set of Rubicon take offs - got them for a steal on Craigslist. I agree the OEM wheels on my Sport S weren't my liking but a guy with a JK was over joyed to get them.

Yep, same here.....a fellow Jeepster on this Forum was excited to get my JL Sahara Wheels from me! As I was excited to get the JK Rubi Wheels from someone else....total preference thing!
