Nope, had a 2001, 2.5L for about 8 years. Admittedly I've never owned one older than that, so I'm not up to date on my CJ and YJ inconveniences.
Inconveniences? ...Characteristics. Charms.

Friends would discuss their nice radio in their cars. I'd just have to offer - I have a Jeep. So..

Did you pee your pants? No I drive a Jeep.

"Man your Jeep smells"... What? Can't hear you.

My wife never wants to borrow my old Jeeps. Nor does anyone really.

I have a jeep AAANNNDDD the kick ass radio in my car to eliminate the wind / road noise, even with the doors off and the top down. That is the best of both worlds and the only way to go!!:rock::rock:

Press the button.. every single time you get in the car.. no. This is a MAJOR inconvenience to the consumer and should be addressed with the JL. I have a Cherokee and the delay in starting, as well as added vibrations due to starting is obnoxious and should have a DEFAULT OFF setting!
I agree with you it is annoying but if you think about it it takes less than a half a second to turn it off and I also have seen someone come out with a override of that start-stop

Sounds like the ESS on the manual may be less obtrusive than the auto. That's good news, if it pans out. I didn't think about tying it to the clutch instead of the throttle. Thanks for the info and link!

I actually re-enabled mine. There was one time I was stuck in traffic and realized I wanted the option.

It’s routine now. Push start, push ess button. Takes 1 second.

Lol, just a joke about the things we take for granted and what we think are MAJOR inconveniences in our lives.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of ESS, but in the history of Wrangler "inconveniences" pushing an extra button is decidedly MINOR.

MAJOR inconveniences might include things like water on the drive side floor every time it rains or so much noise at highway speeds that OSHA would require hearing protection...
I do hope the JL is quieter than the JK. But my JK is significantly quieter than my previous TJ. For that I thank Jeep!

I too turn up the radio, to the detriment of my hearing. :(

The soft top rear "overhang flap" looks strange. But I don't care, I'll be getting the hard top. :)
