I'm looking for any ideas on how to re-attach my soft top to my bows. Long story short I was taking a drive with top halfway back when a strong gust of wind ( just a little Texas breeze) pulled my top back ripping the stitching from the top off of the bows. I'm thinking Velcro on top and bows but, could use other ideas . I've seen some great ideas on this forum so anything is appreciated.

Velcro is how the Bestop ones attach!
Probably a good starting point!

Also if you ever find yourself in Colorado, mine is in my garage. I ended up replacing it with a Bestop slantback. It's been listed on Facebook for a few weeks, but no takers. It'll find a home eventually..

Resurrecting the thread to ask if you guys found a solution. My fabric is also detached from the bows. Crappy ass manufacturing for sure. I've found several different fixes - fabric glue, aviation tape etc. Wondering which is an actual fix.

This worked great for me. Had to do all the bows after wind took my top. Glued up very easily just don't glob it on cause when you press top and bow together it will get messy. 1 tube did it all and Walmart sells it in craft aisle

Sorry, I have not been on here for awhile. Yes I fixed it with fabric glue. Aleenes is the name and is found at Walmart. Worked great and is still holding well

That stuff works very well. Use it sparingly and carefully. I used the pictured adhesive to affix a patch to my motorcycle jacket. That patch isn't ever going to come off willingly.

Yes, holds up very well. Just take the thin fabric off on top of your bows and glue top directly to bows.
Did you do all the bows?
Also - it's really ok in a 30mph crosswind? And lowering/raising the top without some "play" isn't a problem?
I currently have a MacGuyver-esque gorilla tape thing happening for mine and I can't stand the smell. And I have doubts that it will hold anyway.

Yes, I did all bows.I tried gluing with the thin fabric on one bow but glue would not stick to fabric because of movement. The stitching was half pulled out anyway so I, took thin fabric off that was on bows. I then had a good contact point between metal bow and top. It's been 8 months since I did this and, top has worked great with taking it up and down many times. Just had it down for go topless day and it's still glued tightly to the bows.

Want to chime in and say Aleene's seems to do the job. Had all my bows detach. Did some research and this was most definitive answer, and hey 4$ so hell, why not try it.

Cut away excess deteriorating fabric and glued her down. 72 hours in and seems great. I'll update if any significant changes.

Any update on this? I noticed my fabric was ripped at the bows.

Thank you!
