Thanks! I think I found a pic of the 17x8.5 on a gladiator and I don’t think they concave as much. So I think you’re right, I think those are 17x9. I was really worried about stuff sticking out too much. Looks, flicking crap on the side, scrub radius.... I just read your build thread. And like you stated there, MC and RK both recommend 4.5 backspacing or less. I fee like that is the “standard”. I don’t know. I also talked to someone on Instagram that has the same 17x8.5 and 4.75 that you do and they wish they had less backspace. Hmmm.
Yeah...my feedback is based on real life wheelin and I have no ulterior motives and will openly admit when my setup has shortcomings. IMHO, 17x9 wheels with 4.5 backspacing looks nice and symmetrical/stable with 37s on a 2.5-3.5" lift. I'm actually wheel shopping now bc my 37s on 17x8.5 Methods with 4.75 backspacing rub wheelin more than I like with 29" extended shocks in the front. The longer shocks noticeably allow the axle to shift more at full flex and that reduces clearance tucking a tire.

I would venture to guess most people running 37s with 17x8.5 wheels with 4.75 backspacing wont experience the same level of rubbing bc they're running shorter shocks, more than 2" bumpstops, or probably aren't fully flexing and turning much while wheelin. The milestar 37" tire is also a little taller than a 37" BFG ko2/km3 in side by side pics...so that difference could also contribute a little to the rubbing.:flag:

I 100% appreciate your feedback. I need to quit over-researching stuff and trust the research and experience of others. I feel like overwhelming majority advised to do a MC or RK lift and I didn’t. Now replacing everything with MC after wasting a bunch of money with other brands.

Just ordered some method 312s in 17x9. I do plan on upgrading to MC 3.5” Springs soon to make it look more proportional. That was the goal anyway. Also allows some flexibility in the future if I do decide to go with a bigger tire.

Is there a preferred black lug nut to use with method wheels??? Is there a reason or benefit to the spline style? I thought this would be an easy forum search but there is a lot of confusing info. Thanks.

According to my buddy who runs his own Customs shop: The biggest advantage to spline drive is that it's an extra layer of deterrent if someone wants to steal your wheels. Sure, they are common enough to have adapters floating around out there- but unless they're professionals or specifically casing your vehicle, they're going to see the spline drive, and move on. Not sure if it's 100% accurate but he knows enough people on both sides of the law to have a fairly good input.

Can't really help on Brand as I've had the same difficulties. All I can say is look for one piece set, not the kind with an outer casing that just goes over a hex lug..

The bolts are supposedly removable but the simulated ring is not so after scraping them up off-road it’s probably not all that worth it to put new bolts in when the wheel is all scraped up. JMO.
For what it's worth - I added custom "rings" to Method 307s.

Did your MR305s come with the gold zinc bolts in the faux ring? or did you swap them out? My MR312 came with stainless bolts and I prefer the look of the gold zinc or even a black bolt. Debating swapping them or painting my stainless bolts black. Thanks.

Getting my MR312s mounted today. Keeping my 37x12.50 BFG KO2s for now since they only have 20K miles on them. I know its personal preference but trying to decide on white letters in or out. I'll post pics after.
