Does it shudder during engine start / stop as well, or just when you hit the button to turn it off? Mine doesn't shudder at all.

So, mine sometimes takes a couple of rotations to turn off. Sometimes its clean, and it shuts quickly. Other times, it takes what I think is a second too long and kind of studders as it shuts off.

I have a CF clutch though.

I suspect its more of an engine thing as opposed to a clutch thing. I should try it with the clutch not-depressed and the trans in neutral to see if its something there...

I always thought it was a sloppy engine issue.

Does anyone with a manual get a shutter when they shut it off? Dealership says it’s ā€œnormal for the manual.ā€ By shutter, I mean it visibly shakes when I shut it off. It’s a 24 and it’s done since new. Additionally, what could cause it? Thanks!
Not at all

I also have a CF but haven’t noticed anything. If there guess it hasn’t been enough to catch my attention šŸ¤”

I am uber sensitive to noises due to replacing a cam shaft and lifters last year.

Oh I get it. I had those noises, an engine failure, a new engine failure, and now on engine #3 🤣

It shutters in both instances. It’s like something isn’t balanced and becomes evident as it spins down when shutting down.

It’s when the engine shuts down.
Not normal then. The dealer is trying to take you for a loop. The transmission has nothing to do with the engine shutting down.

I've been driving my manual for 7 years, this is not normal. I suspect your dealer is giving you their standard answer for whenever anyone complains about a Wrangler. Take someone for a ride and see what they say after that.
I showed the service writer when I picked it up, and they still said that’s normal for a manual Wrangler.

But the flywheel and clutch does. I think he’s feeling the sprung dual mass flywheel. I was paying close attention to my 24 today when I shut it off after work. I could feel a very slight ā€˜rock’ of the jeep. Nothing crazy, not like a violent shake or anything, just a very subtle shake with its characteristic of a dual mass flywheel. Which makes sense as to why the people with an aftermarket clutch aren’t feeling it

My '21 jlr doesn't shutter on shut off. What it does do is making knocking/ticking sound when idling in Neutral that goes away when I press the clutch fully...

Is this what is happening? I guess technically you could classify this as a shudder that visibly shakes the vehicle, but it is hardly noticeable.

Thank you for taking the time to record that! That seems like it. I can’t imagine having that and leaving the auto start-stop on. I just wanted to make sure it’s normal for the Wrangler and not causing damage from something being unbalanced.

Soooo after viewing these threads I’m actually contemplating backing out of my ā€˜25 manual JL order.

it just doesn’t seem worth the hassle and the headache.

is it really that bad with the new manual JLs?
