I use my JL for dune bashing, i am a newbie. Some of the more experienced drivers told me to install a kill switch for traction control (from what i gather equivalent to removing some fuse).

I hold the traction control button for 6 seconds and it turns off electronic stability and traction control. Is there really some component of the system which is still active and I need to kill it or is this a myth?

I'm pretty sure that that's it. I've seen videos talking about how if you have a Tazer that more gets disabled, but I haven't verified that.

Ahmad, you have a 2023 model. In the US I believe, but am not sure, they all come with an “Off Road+“ button. Pushing that button in 4H should put you in dune mode. Do you have that button? Other than that, the long-press on the traction control button, as you described, should do the trick. I believe all you have left at that point is BLD, but again, I’m not certain.

There are videos on YouTube that show how to install a kill switch for the traction control. ABS braking is part of it.

My understanding is that it just acts to cut the power to specific fuses.

Do you know which ones? I would like to minic by removing them and trying the impact before I do a kill switch.

Do you have a Tazer? Have you tried holding the "duck button" for five seconds?

hey, no I dont. Trying to save some money. Supposedly removing F106 or F100 does the job (then i will control that circuit form a switch inside the car).

Basically many people in the U.A.E do some version of this:

I can easily do it, I am just trying to see if others elsewhere are doing something like this.. Maybe in other countries your driving is not mostly sand.

The story is that holding the switch for 6 seconds does not kill the electronic stability full.

That looks like a lot of work with the potential for screwing things up when a Tazer will do that plus a whole lot more. A Tazer isn't perfect, of course, but you won't have to custom print parts like that.
