Does the overflow tank leak? If not, replacing it will not fix the loss of coolant issue.

As it concerns the 2.0T's cooling system, there is a TSB, 0700122 REV. B, regarding water pump inlet tube fastener torque. Make sure they're properly snug, as noted in the TSB document, before proceeding to purchase a new coolant reservoir tank that may not in fact require replacement.

You can remove the two bolts behind the tank and pull it up to look under it for any pink residue. If it’s leaking that much you will see it. I’m assuming you have crawled under the jeep to look for residual coolant ? How much are you replacing (oz), and how often?

If you have a leak of any kind you will likely smell coolant. Keep an eye on your dipstick for signs of head gasket leakage (coolant in oil). Also watch your exhaust to see if it’s unusually white on startup.

Regarding the coolant reservoirs, they are known to leak and keeping spare handy is probably a good idea, even if you don’t need to replace immediately.

There's a leak in the water pump where water often leaks, but it's minimal. I plugged it with Nural.

did you plug the weep hole? that’s there by design. If it’s leaking coolant that’s an indicator that the internal water pump seal is wearing out.

This is dead on. Not a very good idea to seal that unless you want more major issues.

Do not plug the weep hole, that can lead to bearing failure and catastrophic failure of the pump. Weep holes work with the vent hole, or may be the only vent hole, depending on the pump design. If it’s dripping on your driveway, replace the pump. If not, the. Probably not a big deal yet but should be monitored.
